Fantastic game for Martz and Cutler. Not surprising but the linebackers were stellar too...they just have to stay healthy.

Big win.

best coached game by bears in lovie era.

well done

They made so many adjustments....it really threw me off. I will say that I was annoyed that we didn't get to Romo more often, but that's picking nits.

The Bears are 2-0 this season when I'm wearing my Cutler jersey.

What else can be said. Cutler was incredible and Knox played a lot better than last week.

Already can't wait for next Monday night.

Without getting to Romo, I thought the Bears would have no shot. But they got turnovers and didn't turn the ball over. I'm not sure what the line did different or if the Cowboys played more safe, but the line was seriously improved from the second quarter on. When you only go 1-11 on third down, you rarely win. But the Bears did. Great game. I really have to hand it to Martz today. I am really thinking that if the lien is even average, this offense could be hard to stop.

I really hope people begin to realize how good Cutler is. For him to perform like he has under these circumstances is pretty amazing. He's got a radically different system that he's had to learn very quickly, an absolutely horrible O-Line to compensate for, and a group of receivers that isn't exactly best-in-NFL to work with.

Hats off to this guy. He's an amazing talent, hands down.

best linebacking crew in the NFL, they absolutely carry this defense. such a difference when urlacher is out there, briggs plays so much better, the opposing quarterback has to be perfect with the intermediate throws and they swarm with the short throws.

He was beyond fantastic today. He made some fantastic perfect throws and made good reads when the pass rush broke down. I don't remember any passes that were not placed well. Considering the fact that we have had no running game (although there were plays like screens and stuff coming from out of the backfield) what he did was very impressive.

These are the kinds of games I was looking forward to when we got Cutler. Not to say we didnt have them last year, but it's good to see regardless.

How about the run defense so far...

Best: 14 carries 20 yards 1.4 ypc

Barber: 11 carries 31 yards 2.8 ypc

F. Jones: 7 carries 7 yards 1.0 ypc

The pass defense, however, needs work and it all starts with the front four. Won't be able to rely on tipped passes for interceptions every week.

Good run defense, bad run offense. The Cowboys are exhibit number one as to why you can't absolutely rely on the pass.

The fact that adjustments were made in game was the single biggest revelation of the entire afternoon.

I couldn't believe it.

I will applaud them a bit, but I expected adjustments on offense. I like Lovie gives Martz a lot of leeway with regards to offensive adjustments. If the defense was getting destroyed we would still be seeing a healthy dose of Cover 2 with tons of blitzing on 3rd and longs.

So trying not to get too high after this one and not too low after last week, what have we learned so far...

Offense:

-The Martz offense can move via quick drops, not just 5 and 7 step drops

-We're not gonna have much of a run game this year

-The offensive line is probably worse than last year.

-Cutler seems to be more comfortable this year and more confident in this offense and with these weapons

-The dual threats of Forte and Taylor can give defenses some reason to stuff the box via screens and dump offs.

Defense:

-LBs make this entire D work.

-The D-line needs someone to step up since teams are going to consistently double up on Peppers until someone proves they shouldn't

-Secondary is ok, but I think they are only going to be effective when the D is getting consistent rush.

-I feel like the Bears are in a better position on 3rd and 5 than 3rd and 10, mostly because it gives the LBs a better chance of being involved in making a play. On 3rd and 10, especially when the Bears blitz with their LBs, which they do often, when the D doesnt get pressure right away it gives a good QB time to find one of the receivers or TE open because the secondary can't shut down good WRs by themselves most plays.

The D only gave up 13 points today and 14 in week 1. I'll take that, especially because they are 2 decent to good offensive teams.

in the martz offense, the screen is part of the run game. and the offensive line is holding it together ok. martz just puts more of a focus on pass-blocking, which was good enough to get the job done today.

how about haynesworth and some cash for harris and a 5th or 6th rounder?

I'm assuming you mean Tommie. I'd consider it. Tommie is just never going to be the elite player he was supposed to be, but it's possible his supposed potential combined with his character issues would convince the Skins that they can maximize Tommie's potential.

I agree, both weeks the O-line has been solid blocking for screens. Which is bizarre because they are awful in almost every other situation
