That was Bolland's second game back after missing two months with a concussion. Clear blow to the head.

so it's a roughing penalty, two minutes. if you suspend on that then you have to suspend every time a player makes contact with an opposing player's head.

The most frustrating thing about the series right now is that the Hawks have absolutely dominated play for 3 straight games now and trail 3-2 in the series.

Heck, even game 1 the #1 star should have been the Canuck goal posts.

Agreed, no way in hell that merits a suspension. Bolland's injury history doesn't really matter either if he's on the ice.

I think saying they dominated Game 3 is a major stretch.

They had 14 scoring chances to Vancouver's 6 in game 3. Crawford wasn't quite as good as they needed him to be.

5-5 they were clearly better. We had 14 power play minutes to their 4 and had only 6 more shots. Our last 4 minutes with a man advantage we couldn't even set up in their zone and get a shot on net.

5v5 the Hawks were clearly better, getting 13 chances to the Canucks 7. The Hawks had 14 minutes of PP time and generated 7 chances to the Canucks 1 on PP time. Yes, it was more even in the second half of the game, but the Hawks had no business being tied by that point.

And as for Edler:

The call on the ice: Slashing on Brouwer, no penalty on Edler.

Yeah, that was pretty brutal.

I'm beginning to think that NHL refs are worse than NBA refs.

Edler and Hamhuis should be suspended for the rest of the series.

There have been more suspensions this postseason already than I remember in any recent year.

That being said, the NHL has the worst referees of any pro sport.

Watching Bulls-Pacers last night at least make this debateable.

hamhuis should have been suspended last year after his ungentlemanly leap into the boards which got hoss a 5 minute major. he even had the audacity to writhe around on the ice like a little bitch italian soccer player.

he is swine.

Hockey happens at such an incredible rate of speed that I give them more of a benefit of a doubt. It's the league office that is absurdly incompetent.

Plus part of your job in hockey is to stay the [expletive] out of the way so you don't get yourself killed out there. I think it's probably the hardest sport to referee.

Duncan Keith pretty much admits he's been gassed all season:

“We're all trying to pick our game up, and I'm part of that,” said Keith, who logged so many minutes a year ago, he had nothing when the season started, and struggled to the end.

“I played 115-odd games last season,” Keith said, “and a lot of ice time in those games, and two months later you come back and you're playing exhibition games, and it's not the same feeling.

The price of the Cup, I guess.

I wouldn't change anything we did last year. If that's what it took for this group to take home the hardware, and it contributes to a down season the next year, then so be it.

That's a good article. Once again the narrative coming from the Vancouver Sun is exemplary. I do enjoy their take on the games, and their team.

At what point if you're Vancouver do you consider starting Schneider? Luongo has been an absolute dog these past 2 games.

Schneider is pretty good and Luongo has become a mental midget against the Hawks.

Not game 6, I don't think.

If he's pulled in game 6 and we blow them out again, though? It'll be interesting to see what they do for game 7 back in Canucktown.
