The lesson here is that those early season games against the Oilers were the difference between moving on and going home.

 

How many of these guys just played their last game for the Blackhawks?

It's really depressing to hear the Hawks radio guys giving their thank yous and best wishes for the summer in case this is their last broadcast until September.

The Hawks are going to make the playoffs

 

 

and dallas is now on life support. we're up 5 points on them (they do have one game in hand) and we own the tiebreaker

 

Dallas lost again tonight (to LA though). I think they are just about done. 5 points back with 5 to go. Hawks just need 5 points in their last 5 to eliminate them.

 

 

It'd be a fairly sizeable choke to miss the playoffs now.

 

Ugh...that was all 8-10 days ago. Not trying to call anyone out of course. Just showing how good it looked a week ago...and then talking about how we own the tiebreaker when that is what is going to knock us out.

Adelkader is one of the cleanest hitters in the NHL. His hit was a retaliation from a similar hit he received earlier...just saying

 

saying that I am sure he will be suspended a game or two

Adelkader is one of the cleanest hitters in the NHL. His hit was a retaliation from a similar hit he received earlier...just saying

 

 

Every game the Wings play the Hawks I always see at least one cheap shot from him. I'm glad you think he's an angel though.

I am not going to have a fan on fan pissing contest on who is dirtier...I could easily point out some tactics that certain Blackhawks do that I would consider dirty. Adelkader's game is based on hitting. I am sure that not all of them are clean as clean gets, but he usually has his stick and elbows down.

That's fine. Just dont come here after a humiliating loss to our arch rivals to knock us out of the playoffs and talk about how clean your guys play.

 

You are a very respectable poster and I know I'm just bitching because I'm frustrated but still.

 

The good news for you guys is, the last arch rival to knock a Chicago team out of the playoffs went on to win the championship. So you got that going for you.

Too much inconsistent play, the cap dump and the grind of winning the Cup also had profound effects on this season. I don't know if not making the playoffs this season is such a terrible thing, it'll give them time to rest and get pissed off about this shitty season. Moreover I saw some where that the Hawks came away with a combination of 17 players and draft picks in those deals over last summer - we've yet to see what'll come of these aquistions. I know Bowman sold on high on Versteeg and few others, I gotta think he didn't come away empty handed. Hell, Morin and Leddy are only 19 and 20, I look upon this season as a small bump in the road, they'll back on top of the Central in the near future.

Here we go. I'm such a sucker. I know Dallas is going to win but I just can't give up that little bit of hope. I gotta stop myself from thinking how awesome it would be to take it to Vancouver and their pushover goalie. I can tell you who Vancouver is rooting for tonight and its not Minnesota

What this team has needed all year is the Burish-Eager-Fraser line. Energy, a little ass-kicking and the occasional goal. Instead we get [expletive] players like Dowell, Bickell, Stalberg, Pisani (who was a huge disappointment, by the way). The first three may be decent at some point, but down the stretch they were nothing but stiffs filling out a roster.

havlat (not on the hawks any more, but was not long ago) is an example of a guy who is both a giant vagina and a dirty player.
