With the season lost a long time ago, I'd like the Cubs to be very conservative with Soto's recovery.

None of the remaining games matter, a healthy Soto in 2011 does.

I'd be quite surprised if they could turn this train wreck of a team into a winner as quickly as next year. However, I'm not counting on it.

Well, at least 2007 was a really good rebound from 2006.

 

Yeah, but they were lucky that was such a weak division with 4 sub .500 teams. They were still just an 85 win team, barely better than the 2009 "disaster" that everybody hated.

I didn't see an actual transaction listing for this, but it appears (to the surprise of probably nobody) that Hoffpauir has been sent back to Iowa with Lee returning from the bereavement list.
