Just read he died of a heart attack in LA. Will always remember Sammy going deep on him a million times and of course his wife.

Wasn't he the pitcher who asked the manager to come out in about the second inning or so and proceeded to take off his cup, hand it to the manager, and then pitch much better?

Jose Lima signed an autograph for me several years back in Houston. He was an entertaining personality. RIP.

I'm sorry. What did you post? I was a little distracted.

Probably steroid-related. Shouldn't have a heart attack at that age.

RIP

No idea if that's the case or not, but the single worse thing to me about the steroid era in sports is that any time someone dies way too young, there's always going to be that speculation... Kirby Puckett, Reggie White, Florence Griffith Joyner, etc.

Kirby Puckett?

The thought of Puckett and juice has never crossed my mind before.

Probably because he was not exactly lean as a player, and because he died before that really became something you associated with younger athletes dying.

Was it a steroid induced suffocation into a pillow?

The pillow was clearly in the midst of a roid rage and suffocated her.

nor was he strong looking. He looked overweight to me.

I believe the word you're looking for is fat.

As was Jose Lima. If his death had anything to do with a foreign substance being put into his body, that foreign substance was probably cheeseburgers. Still, that didn't stop someone upthread speculating about steroids.
