Let's beat the Pirates like we usually do.

Then we can trade for some of their good players. Do they have any this year?

This made me laugh.

Fred, you are over the hill from me. On 40 or actually in the bursting metropolis that is Fairview?

Please, don't remind me that I'm over the hill !!!

From Saturday evening until Monday morning I was marooned in the old truck stop on I-40 (Not the new Flying J across the highway). The restaurant there was closed up years ago, and the convenience store was pretty much sold out of everything by Sunday morning. The young man and his wife that own the truck wash on the property brought in tons of food and set up their BBQ grill and were feeding drivers for donations.

On Monday morning, we discovered that there was exactly one route out of town that was not flooded out. That was to take TN 97 down to Franklin and get on I-65 which was open the whole time. Since I was headed to southern Mississippi, I could take I-65 through Birmingham as well as I could run I-40 through Memphis...... so, off I went toward Franklin. I don't ever remember a more frustrating day. 29 miles, point to point, took 6 hrs and 45 minutes !!!! By the time I got onto I-65, I was so tired, I had to stop and sleep !!!

In any case, I survived the great Nashville flood of '10.

btw.... greetings one and all from beautiful Opelousas, LA !!! Love me some gumbo !!

While I don't like Baker in the 2 spot, he has hit lefties considerably better than righties thus far:

vs. LHP: .320/.393/.680 (25 AB)

vs. RHP: .059/.059/.059 (17 AB)

The obvious caveat is sample size.

Fortunately, you don't have to worry about sample size for that particular statistic. Over his career....

vs. LHP .288/.350/.555 (281 AB)

vs. RHP .255/.308/.400 (525 AB)

Soriano is scalding hot, why isn't he hitting higher?

I don't care that much about what a line up looks like but when a guy has hit 4 home runs in three games don't you want to give him as many AB's as possible?

Why are they singing "Beat It" in the crowd?

Because it's playing on someones Ipod and all 25 people on that side of the ballpark can hear it.
