That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. We'd still have money to get a shooter and there won't be any new powerhouses being formed in the East. Cleveland will be about the same and Miami will be better--not overwhelming--but very thin. New York won't be good.

I think the Bulls would battle with the Heat for a 3 seed if that went down.

But what do you do long-term to win a championship? Hope you can get Melo next year? Or do you think Rose/SG/Deng/Boozer/Noah is good enough?

Hope Rose turns into a superstar, get lucky (I would call getting Melo lucky), or being able to pawn off Deng's deal for something good when the time comes. With Rose and Noah's extensions coming up and the new CBA this is kind of a use it or lose it situation.

Definitely. Which is why I really want 2 studs (and to keep Noah/Rose)

If Bucher right, you're all going to be very disappointed.

Tweet about an hour ago: As of the moment, all signs point to this scenario: LBJ (Cle), Wade + Bosh(Mia), Boozer(Chi), Amare(NY). Not that that's startling news.

Yeah, that is pretty much guessing and not reporting.

Where do you have the Celtics?

In a plane crash.

Bucher really hasn't given the Bulls much of a chance since the beginning, but at this point I don't give him any more credibility than Stephen A. Smith. There is no investigative journalism going on here... it is just a bunch of reporters throwing their opinions out and hoping they guess right.

4th if they bring everyone back. What's the timetable on Perkins?

Besides, if the Celtics think they have one more run in them they won't kill themselves to do that great in the regular season.

Edit: Bloops, realized I forgot Miami/Chicago. I guess I'd put the Celtics in that group battling out for 3-5 seeds. Atlanta and Milwaukee behind them with Orlando and Cleveland up top.

Edit 2: I could definitely see a scenario where the top 6 or so teams in the East end up with 50+ wins.

Man i dunno what to think of the Bucks - they dont have a top 25 player but they've got good depth with Salmons, Jennings, Bogut, Drew Gooden, Ilyasova, etc.

They're gonna be frisky - but i think if this plays out like Bucher suggests, then they're behind CLE/ORL/BOS/CHI/MIA and still probably ATL. If it goes down like that - the East could be real balanced and fun.

The key for the Bucks will be for Jennings not to have a multi-month shooting slump or for Salmons to play like he did for the Bulls last year. He's great right after he's traded. Getting Bogut back will help.

And of course if Skiles can keep up his excellent coaching without starting to grate on his players.

all these reporters are being fed a stream of BS from everyone involved in the process, but because more good comes out of being the first person to get it right than bad comes from being one of the 1000 that get it wrong over and over, they have to run with it.

Amar'e signs with New York.

Actually, nobody signs until the 8th. He "committed".

Ahh I see that now. Domino number one has fallen anyway. At least Knicks fans can look forward to 50 wins and a bunch of points every season.

Which is way better than what they've had in quite some time.

It's a really good guess.

If that scenario happens, can the Bulls keep Hinrich?

They're not winning 50 games with just Stoudemire added.

If James does end up signing with Chicago, I'm pretty sure almost every Cleveland fan would forever burn with hatred about it. There'd be no going back. After all the times the Bulls have been in the way of every decent Cavs team, this would be the last straw.

I never really looked at that side of it. That would be delightful.

Well that seems mean-spirited

I really don't think we have much of a shot with Wade, even with the custody battle. I can't see him leaving 30 mill on the table to play at home, especially with the divorce situation. Hell, he can spin it and say it's BETTER for his kids if he STAYS in Miami, because of the extra money involved.

This, in turn, probably means we don't have much of a shot with Bosh either, unless Lebron actually decides to play here. And even then, I'm not sure we can get Bosh from Toronto without giving up Noah.

My guesses on where these guys wind up are as follows and I really hope I'm completely wrong, but I think all these guys will wind up going for the absolute most money they can possibly get, in the end......

Lebron-Cleveland

Wade- Miami

Bosh- Houston

Boozer- Miami

Lee- San Antonio(sign and trade for Parker)

I'm praying we don't get shut out of this mess and I am certainly a pessimist, but I think this is a very real possibility......

Yep, it's a real possibility.

Lebron + Boozer/Lee makes the most sense to me. If getting Lebron came down to getting Bosh and getting Bosh came down to S&Ting Noah then of course I would do it but that's about the only scenario I can think of. I'd rather just sign Boozer or Lee outright and keep Noah.

You could be right about Wade. I'm sure the $30 million does mean quite a bit but with his star and endorsement power, I think it means wayyyy less than to him than it does to Bosh. I wonder if the money stuff is taken care of already in his divorce.

1: Unless something has changed, San Antonio has said they won't trade Tony Parker. Obviously this can change, but

right now they are the one organization that you can take their word for. Plus I don't see Lee in San Antonio, he simply doesn't fit.

2: Bosh doesn't seem all that interested in playing in Texas, period. I still think Miami or Chicago for him. The question is will Toronto blink?

3: Boozer, whereever Bosh, Boozer is going to the other place. (Bosh to Chicago, Boozer to Miami, Bosh to Miami, Boozer to Chicago.) I really do think Boozer is the Bulls to lose, but he is also the backup plan.
