Yeah I know I'm playing arm chair psychologist here but I think it matters to these guys.

But there is a novelty to putting Lebron and Wade together that no other team can match so who knows.

The difference is if Lebron signs here there's no question who is the alpha dog on the team. That's not the case if he went to Miami.

The best part of this entire circus is reading all the theories people have on why LeBron would want to do (or not do) something.

Not only that, but would there really be a question between Lebron and Wade?

LeBron's legacy takes a hit if he goes to Miami over Chicago.

What's the more lasting impression - winning 5 titles with a top 3 player in the league on the same team? Or winning 3 titles with a guy that, from all accounts, would gracefully accept a sidekick role in Rose?

Those title numbers are obviously completely arbitrary, but I think it's more meaningful for LeBron if he branches himself off and does his own thing. Of course I'm extremely biased, but individual legacies mean a ton in the NBA. LeBron prides himself on being an NBA historian. He's not a dummy.

Winnning 5 is always better than winning 3.

This is the same logic that makes Knicks fans think it's good that their team is awful.

How is that really comparable to what Knicks fans say or do?

There's no other big four sport where individual legacies mean more than what they do in the NBA. Good luck establishing your own claim to fame by being in D-Wade's shadow. If LBJ goes to Miami, he almost certainly will be Wade's partner in crime and not the other way around.

I suspect Lebron would want to be the top dog, but I can't say I actually know him well enough to say for sure. I suspect he wouldn't care about the Jordan legacy, for example.

It's hard for me to say how Lebron would feel about a partnership with Wade. I think you're right, there's an element where Lebron would be sharing the spotlight. But I don't know if Lebron considers that a deterrent, or and advantage.

If it makes you guys feel better McGraw from the Herald basically shot down SAS's rumor. He said on a scale of 1 to "Carlos Zambrano is on my fantasy team", the worry here is about 1.5

They are constantly saying that LeBron doesn't want to be known as the guy who cherrypicked his titles, so he has to come there and get in on the ground floor with them.

By no means am I saying he'd be doing that. I just think the worth of the titles get diminished if he's doing it alongside Wade in his town.

It's similar to the situation Kobe was facing. A good majority of people were claiming Kobe couldn't win a title by himself. The last two titles that Kobe and the Lakers have won are easily the most rewarding to him. I think a similar instance would happen with LeBron. No matter where LeBron goes, he's going to win at least one championship. Top two players in the NBA don't go titleless, unless you're going up against Michael Jordan of course.

We don't know what's going through LeBron's mind but as a guy that said his goal is to become the most renowned athlete ever, he might want to go to a team or city where he's the number one guy. Miami is D-Wade's town and will be his even if they were to get LBJ.

Again, just my opinion. All in due time, though. 11:00 on Wednesday night needs to arrive.

dougthonus (probably the most respected poster on RealGM) has a source saying that LeBron will commit to the Bulls by July 3rd.

How right has this poster been in the past with his sources?

i just have a really bad feeling lebron is gonna resign with the cavs out of loyalty. and he probably would not be thrilled with that, especially if he didnt win a championship. hopefully if he does resign with the cavs, its only a 3 year deal. but im still holding out hope for the bulls.

It would mean a lot more historically for Lebron to win a title or 2 in Cleveland, New York, or New Jersey. You can't just apply these arguments for the sake of them working out best for the Bulls

Not being a RealGM poster, I don't know what to make of that. It's still exciting.

As of right now, the Bulls cannot sign two max contract players. But whats to stop someone like Chris Bosh from signing a one year deal for less, and then resigning with the Bulls for a max 6 year contract the next year? Any money he would lose on that first year deal would theoretically be made up in the next deal and more with the extra year. This would be legal, since you can go over the cap if you are signing your players, right? Just thinking out loud, since this is pretty much all Ill be thinking about this week.

I'm sure the Bulls are that huge of a draw that a player will risk giving up a full contract to sign a 1 year deal so he can play with Joakim [expletive] Noah.
