Sarcasm is duly noted, GUYS, I thought it would interesting to talk about. Beside I put up "take it with a grain of salt" warning. I thought it would be fun, cause we have nothing else to talk about concerning the Bulls till June 20ish for the draft.

I wasn't really trying to be sarcastic. Just like the positive rumors surrounding the Bulls.

Eh...we all like rumors. Hell...a sports message board thrives on it.

Just having some fun.

I got it, hence the "sarcasm is duly noted". June is going to be a long month, unless a certain baseball franchise can turn it around.

Just Phil trying to force the Lakers to pay him his 12 million a year to coach them.

I really doubt the Lakers pay him that much. As valuable as the Lakers are Jerry Buss isn't one of the wealthier owners in the league.

Now the Knicks or Nets could be big players for Jackson if the bidding gets nuts.

Lakers are paying him around 10 million a year right now to coach the team right now, and Phil wants 12 million to continue coaching the Lakers. Lakers want him to take a couple million dollar paycut because paying 10-12 million dollars for a coach is ridiculous. The Lakers also want to give Jackson a one year deal because of the impending lockout after next season and are grooming Brian Shaw right now to be the next coach when Jackson is gone/retired.

Phil has also already said that he only has a couple more years left, his girlfriend is Jerry Buss' daughter, and the Lakers are more loaded than the Bulls would be even with Lebron James. Also, he has already said on one occasion that he's not replacing Vinny Del Negro.

Just ESPN throwing crap together to see if it sticks. Pipe dream.

1: I agree, I think this is a negotiation tactic by Jackson to get a few million more out of his boss. My question is, why are both Jenny Buss and the Bulls helping him?

2: I know NJ has the new Russian owner and he flushed with cash, but honestly if Phil went back to the East Coast, it wouldn't be for friggin' New Jersey. And Cleveland, no chance. Again, for Phil it's either LA, Chicago, or Montana to retire.

My money is still on Phil returning to LA.

I think the only way he isn't coaching the Lakers next season is if he moves to a front office.

The only way you can think Rose is a better player than Rondo is if you think offense is the only thing that matters. And even then, it's a lot closer than you want to paint it.

This is silly. No one thinks office is all that matters. Besides that, no one thinks Rondo is an elite defender (if someone does, they are wrong). He's not even a good defender. Derrick is a better scorer, 2 years younger and is physically superior to Rondo across the board. The Rondo hype has gotten to be a little much these playoffs. He's a top 5 point guard in the league, an all star and a very good player. He is not a superstar.

Rondo will be exposed when he doesn't have 3 other All-Stars on his roster anymore

Are you including Rondo as one of the three, because in what [expletive] universe is Ray Allen an all-star?

And I'm not saying anything about them going forward wolf, so Rose's age vs. Rondo's doesn't mean a thing. If you have Rondo as a top 5 PG, I assume you have him above Rose at this moment?

Paul

Williams

Rose

Rondo

Nash

The Bulls don't make the playoffs this year with Rondo at the point. Being able to dominate a game without scoring is a wonderful ability to have, but that only works in the context of the team. Taking team out of it, I think most gm's would rather have Derrick if they are starting from scratch.

OK.

Yeah, I'd love to see Jordan in the Bulls organization, but I think we need to be realistic. He's above being a coach, probably doesn't want to GM, and certainly no one can expect Reinsdorf to move over and share ownership. I'm not sure what he would do. It's not like the Bulls lock him out of the UC. They did build a statue n' all. Nobody has torn that down :)

Hard to disagree with him.

Although, what "great" player has Miami really been loyal to? Himself? Mourning? Hardaway? Shaq?

Is it really that hard?

MJ is a notable exception, but was him not getting involved the Bulls' fault? Pippen wanted to coach, but isn't good enough. (He also wanted to be a color man and sucked). They actually brought Scottie back to the organization even though he was way past his prime just so he could retire as a Bull.

Besides, the Bulls have hired plenty of ex-players over the years -- I don't think Wade's comments are warranted.

What is he expecting the Bulls do with Jordan and Pippen?

JR should have stepped aside and let Jordan buy the team from him. And just to show even more loyalty, JR should probably have given him a nice deal too, because of all Jordan's done for the Bulls.

And remember when Pip said he wanted to coach and the Bulls didnt take him seriously and hired VDN? Well they should have just hired Pippen on the spot when he made those quotes.

Did Wade stop to consider that Johnny Kerr was the team's broadcaster for like 30 years, Norm Van Lier was a longtime pre and postgame commentator for Sportschannel/Fox Sports Chicago/CSN Chicago (while not directly affiliated with Bulls, I'm sure the Bulls had something to do with that), Bob Love still has a job with the organization, John Paxson was the radio color guy, then our GM and now a VP, Bill Cartwright was given a chance to be the coach, Scottie Pippen was resigned to finish his career in Chicago, Bill Wennington is the radio color guy, Pete Myers is a longtime assistant coach. I'm sure there are still some I am missing.

Maybe JR should be on cue to wipe Jordan's ass whenever he wants it, too. How about Jordan's gambling? JR should foot that bill, too.

I don't see why Reinsdorf wouldn't have given Jordan an ownership stake if that's what he wanted. My understanding is that Reinsdorf is still friendly with Jackson and Jordan. It was Krause that everyone had a problem with.

Anyway, I would've loved to seen Pip get a coaching opportunity. I'm kind of surprised he hasn't been an assistant anywhere yet.

That's far different than simply turning over the Bulls to Jordan. An ownership stake? Sure.

I don't know the details, but it seems doubtful to me that Jordan would want a mere stake in some team. His interest appears to be full control, full ownership.

Lindsay Hunter was brought back to the front office.

So was John Paxson. And Bill Cartwright got a shot at coaching.

Randy Brown is the Director of Player Development I'm pretty sure.
