Why would you waste energy hating the Cavs your entire life? Craig Ehlo just too smarmy for you?

Mark Price and Brad Dougherty were guys I couldn't stand. Everybody has that one team in each sport, regardless if it's rationale or not, that they hate with a passion. For me it's Cleveland Cavs in basketball.

i don't hate any team because the bulls beat everybody so badly during the 90's, especially the cavs and knicks.

That's fine.

I don't. In fact, most people I know don't either.

If you say so, I believe ya.

oh my god if this story about delonte banging lebron's mom is true.... :-)) :-)) :-))

?

I'm only posting the text because the site it's on seems to be slowing down/frozen, probably due to all the traffic...

According to TerezOwens.com: The reason for LeBron playing poorly is because of news that Mr. West is having relations with LeBron's mother.

"In what is truly a disturbing story, comes exclusive Terez Owens news that LeBron's teammate Delonte West is sleeping with LeBron's Mother Gloria James..Yes, this is the purported story coming from my source in Cleveland..My source explains the following."My uncle is the general contractor at the Q and has been for the last 7 years. He's good friends with a lot of guys at the Q, including some of the bigger boys in the organization and knows Dan Gilbert personally. My uncle has been told that Delonte has been banging Gloria James (Lebron's Mom) for some time now. Somehow Lebron found out before game four and it destroyed their chemistry and divided the team. I am not making this up, I wish it wasn't true but it happened. ." With Delonte West's checkered past, LeBron can be none too pleased with his teammate and good friend hanging with his Mother... The Cavs definitely looked like a different squad from game 4 on..especially LeBron...coincidence, or did this really just happen? Maybe this is the reason LeBron's leaving Cleveland." - TerezOwens.com

Yeah I just hopped to deadspin after I saw your post. They seem to think it's an email hoax....very similar hoax was started for the Villanova team after they got bounced in the NCAAs. That would be AWESOME though. Although the simple solution for Cleveland would be to jettison West and keep a happy LeBron

I didn't think the Bulls had much of a chance to land LeBron before the Boston series, but Chicago's chances had to increase in the last day or so. My Bulls dream offseason would be in order of importance:

1. LeBron

2. Calipari

3. Ray Allen

Would this be a championship team? The low post threat would be pretty pitiful. Do the Bulls have enough money to get Allen? How much is left after LeBron? What would the Bulls do with Luol Deng if they landed LeBron? He would be quite the expensive backup 3. Don't you have a to trade contract for contact making it hard to trade Luol?

I have no desire for Calipari unless it's a prerequisite to getting LeBron

Do the Nets actually have room for two max FA's or is it just assumed that their money-mad Russian owner will just pay what it takes to go over? That guy is like a James Bond villain come to life, what with him actually [expletive] FINDING GOLD and, of course, being all mixed up with Putin.

the man can't go over, that's not how the soft cap works.

you can only go over if you're signing your own players.

I don't think think they have enough. The Knicks are 17,000,000 committed next year and barely can afford 2 max guys. The Nets are at 22,000,000. They would need a trade (albeit smaller one) to afford 2.

Ah, gotcha. I thought it was an issue of paying some kind of luxury tax or something.

there is a luxury tax that applies to teams that are way over, though.

But they're only over from re-signing their own guys, right?

Yup. Basically once you sign your own guys and go over the cap, you can then make trades for other players as long as the salaries match. There are also exemptions (lower level, mid level) which are basically allowances every team is given to sign one player to a certain amount of money regardless of cap space. So there's a cap but its very loose as teams that are only at or below the cap are often called cheap for being unwilling to go over. It's how teams like the Lakers, who are way over the cap, can end up with a Ron Artest in the offseason. It's also how the Knicks were able to amass an over $130 million payroll a few season ago.
