Its amazing how four games can change one's outlook on the season. Playoffs will still be a stretch, but I'm confident this team will be playing meaningful baseball well into the summer.

How was the crowd when Zambrano came into the game? Also, I read in the game thread about Z's mound antics, did he do any Derek Jeter like fist pumps?

Zambrano got a very nice ovation when he entered the game. As he left the field, he was yelling, as he sometimes does.... but I didn't notice any fist pumping.

Yea a night where wind was not such a negative factor and the Cubs hammer the Natspo's. That being said, this team needs to know those nights and try to drive the ball to the gap or play station to station.

i feel like we've had to overcome managerial incompetence in a lot of the games we've played this year.

In that case 2010 looks to be like most every year.

I love Z.

"It's like the commercial," Zambrano said. "I can pitch. I can hit. I can play left field, I can play shortstop. As long as somebody pays, [Leon] can play. If [Marmol] needs a day off, I can be a closer. I will do my job in that spot if they want me to be the [closer]."

That's probably the quote that caused Kaplan to go around talking about how Z was going to be a distraction for the team in accepting his role.

Yea and now the "Great Steve Stone" is picking up on the whole "Z isn't happy about the bullpen switch, and very shortly he will be making noise about wanting a new team" crap etc.... Seriously between Stone and Kaplan I don't know which one is the more arrogant, obnoxious, blow hard in the Chicago media.

Doesn't Stone have his own team to worry about now?

Didn't follow his daily Milton Bradley tweets last year? The man has a vendetta the size of Brennaman's.

Neither one of those pikers could carry Milo Hamilton's jock strap !!!!

You know he needs to get over it, but I still see why he would be pissed. He's gone because he dared question the awesome team that Jim put together and Dusty ran into the ground. Jim's pretty good at pointing the finger. '04 was all the announcers and Sammy Sosa's fault. Thus we bad mouthed them and ran them off. We are starting to rinse and repeat again, '09 was Milton and soon to be Zambrano's fault.
