Seems strange to have Lou's bullpen management be the takeaway from this game. Grabow hasn't pitched since Friday, he has to pitch sometime. The whole 8 baserunners all game thing is the problem.

Last time Lou managed a lost cause, he resigned. Maybe he'll be kind enough to do the same with this lost cause.

Before the season, I never would have thought that the starting rotation would have been the only bright spot on this team.

Momma always said if I have nothing nice to say, it's better to say nothing............

so here I am saying nothing.

this was a painful game to watch in person. z makes one mistake to reyes...guy with the highest obp sitting on our bench...no offense at all...half the stadium was empty...ugh. worst of all was the hot dog sold to me inside of a toasted piece of bread instead of a proper hot dog bun...wtf citi field?!

Aramis Ramirez is presently the living embodiment of this team. We should be pretty good, and yet we are sucking powerfully.

Note: This is not to say that I am blaming the team's struggling on Ramirez. His hardship at the plate is simply emblematic of the Cubs' offensive woes.

What...you're not looking foward to Soriano in his age 39 season? You've given up that Samardzija's wide receiving skills will ever morph into useful pitching skills? You don't like constantly overpaying for middle relief mediocrity? You don't yearn to watch guys make outs prodigiously?

Boers and Bernstein were wondering if Samardzija was more important to Chicago sports as a pitcher or receiver on the Bears. Maybe he could do the Deion thing.

But it's easier to get rrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyy mad and demand someone's head on a platter!!!!

8 baserunners, 0 runs. That is all. At least the Blackhawks were on at the same time, wait...

Lous a [expletive] moron. That is all. Fire him and make him take Grabow with him

Is that because we can't fire all the players who suck?

It's weird that people still think managers have a significant effect one way or another on baseball teams.

It's not weird at all. Managers really can't do much to make a team win beyond the superficial, but they sure as [expletive] can do plenty to get one to lose.

Yeah, .500 is looking more and more like a longshot every day.

Oh well. If the team tanks I want the bottom to completely fall out and a house cleaning and fire sale happen. Get rid of Hendry, get someone competent in there, deal Lee, deal Rammy, deal anyone else you have to for good prospects to hopefully rebuild, and we'll try this again in 4-5 years if this season becomes a lost cause early.

70 wins is looking like more and more of a longshot at this point. Normally, when the Cubs aren't good....they crater.

That's because it's so easy to watch managers make moves, point to them afterwards and then pin the loss on the manager. It's a biased search for information.

Over and over again, it's been shown that good managers can make a 2-3 game difference from bad managers. That's it. Lou probably falls somewhere in between.
