everyone PRAY for Carpenter/Wainwright

None of us are that lucky.

It's Silva. Has to be.

The link says its not a huge player. And Silva is about as big as they come.

Not wishing this, but watch it be Z just for a gigantic kick in the nuts.

Z would have to be considered a "big" name player.

The link says "semi-big." I think Z falls under that category.

Agreed, and if he knew that a suspension was coming, it could explain his poor performance to start the season.

I would think Z, Lilly and Dempster all fall under the "semi-big" tag, which is why this has me a little nervous, though I'm leaning to Z definitely not being it. I think the perception, for better or for worse, around baseball is generally that he's a "big name" because he's the de facto ace of the team. Edited by Sammy Sofa

If he knew it was coming, and MLB knew it was him, what would be the holdup in suspending him? Why would they wait this long, if, presumably, they've known about the failed test since Opening Day?

Again, this is just speculation on my part.

Wouldn't it more likely be someone who has recently battled an injury and may have used to try to quickly recover from said injury? Maybe someone like Brandon Webb or Tim Hudson?

Appeal process? The Cubs are in NY.

Could be.

I just have this foreboding feeling it's a Cub.

Gotta notify the next of kin so they don't read about it in the paper or watch it on the news. Eh?

It's Brett Myers

Myers is irrelevant, not semi-big.
