I wonder how the umps thought the ball got into his throwing hand

He reached down for it, and from some angles that could easily look like he was reaching into his mitt.

That's what I thought when I saw it live

thank God we don't have instant replay, good thing the integrity of the game is preserved by the umpire being able to blow an obvious call.

But that's the way things have always been so that's how things should always be! And if you have replay each game will take like a week and a half!

In conclusion, replay is for Commies and women.

Soriano managing to get worse with each AB.

And you know they were showing the replay of him dropping the ball at the stadium while Lou was arguing with them

Soriano looks like he's stepping into the box for the first time in his life.

The ump is on the left. And yeah great example of why catches should be able to be replayed. They can look and see if it was caught and if not they look at video and see where runners were and they all get to advance to the base they were currently running to.

I highly doubt they would show that...

I was at Game 5, and they definitely didn't show the Lofton "trap."

Like it was the first time he ever saw anything other than a fastball

they showed a messed-up angle of it but it was clear he dropped it, even with the announcers gushing over the "highlight reel" play.
