How is Krzyzewski not?

Depends on whether you weigh Xs and Os more than getting the talent to the school. Nobody does less with more than Coach K

Coach K: 3 titles, 11 Final Fours

Izzo: 1 title, 6 Final Fours

Has Coach K had that significantly more talent than Izzo?

Also, Duke gets a lot of McDonald's All-Americans to come because those players sign to Duke. There is not [expletive] way players like Ryan Kelly or Eric Boateng would be that highly rated without signing to Duke.

Rick Barnes.

Coach K did win a national title more recently than Izzo.

Duke has 3 times the McD All-Americans Texas does most years(note numbers a total estimation and may be completely made up)

Oh, c'mon. You know very well -- in fact, I think you've even mentioned it before -- that many of Duke's McDonald's All-Americans are such because they are committed to Duke, not because they're actually worthy (the same principle often applies to actual rankings, as well).

Further, while it's hilarious to say "Duke hasn't been to the Final Four since 2004, ahahah" -- what a loser, he went five whole seasons without a Final Four -- Duke won 27-32-22-28-30 games over that stretch. Barnes has had four double-digit losses in the last six years, Coach K has had two since 1984 (not including the partial season he missed due to his back). I'd also argue Barnes has had more actual talent over the past six-eight years. This is a really stupid comparison and I'm going to stop now.

You got me on your first point. All I can really argue with in this post is his ludicrous my team sucks so I'm getting back surgery and putting all the losses on this fall guy. [expletive] you K

Yeah, i pretty much lost all respect for K after that.

what a great tourney. i had four brackets. 3 of them might be the 3 worst i've ever filled out.

the fourth is also bad, but it looks like it's going to win me 50 bucks.

1 of 8 elite eight teams. one. ONE. WHAT THE [expletive] WAS I DOING?!

I thought my bracket was bad. I had four Elite Eight teams but missed on the whole Final Four.

Amazingly enough, had there been a Butler-Kentucky-Baylor-MSU final four with anybody but Kentucky winning it, I would have won my wife's office pool and if Kentucky had won, I would have finished third.

Best first round I've had in years and everything after went to [expletive] quickly.

Luckily I don't (/can't) do pools for money. I did my bracket 30 minutes before tipoff of the first game, and for some reason I went completely anti-chalk. Whoops.

Elite 8:

Kansas

Ohio State

Vanderbilt

Pitt

Wisconsin

New Mexico

Duke

Villanova

Final Four

Ohio State-Vandy-Wisconsin (really? drunk ass)-Villanova

Villanova over Ohio State in the finals.

meh.

do you guys think the fact that Coach K had to deal with Dean Smith for the majority of his time at Duke gives him extra "coaching points"? it was just a thought i had. Kryzewski had more success during Smith's tenure, which is an interesting point in my opinion.

My friends from Duke wrote this article published in Feb '05 in Duke's student paper:

Some Duke/Scheyer fluff - http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/ct-spt-0330-haugh-jon-scheyer--20100329,0,3157171.story

By the way, I'll boo and dislike Scheyer if want to and I do, he didn't go Illinois and that's, that.

He chose Duke over Illinois. You would have done the same.

How do you know gflore is white?

Well played, but Duke is adding 5 black players next year if you include Seth Curry.

I don't think I would have, grew up an Illini fan, had and still have a strong dislike for Duke, just don't see me picking Duke over Illinois.
