And Moss has done it again. Accused of quitting on plays and Carolina DB's back it up.

You can read the article and see that Chris Gamble and Chris Harris both say he gives up on plays a lot. Gamble even says every corner knows he does it.

However, this is perhaps the most damning part.

Gamble described Moss as a sneaky player, because at times it might look like he's not giving a top effort, attempting to lull a cornerback into thinking he isn't part of the play before suddenly shifting into top gear. Yet Gamble said there was little deception with Moss on Sunday. Instead, he was telegraphing the Patriots' offensive intentions.

"Some of his body language let me know it was a run, and that's how I got a feel on when to help out on the run," he told ESPNBoston.com. "I think if he came off the ball and had a little Wes Welker in him, you wouldn't know what was coming. That's what I think Moss needs to do -- be like Wes and go hard every play. I'm going to respect him, and every other [defensive back] is going to respect him if he comes off the ball hard."

I've always said it and I will say it again I would take T.O. in a heartbeat over him. Both cause problems but I'll take the one who always gives everything hes got.

Hey, if it was so obvious he's quitting, why don't you not give up a 96 [expletive] yard touchdown drive to essentially lock up the game for New England?

This may well be completely true, but to me it comes off as sour grapes. If it was so obvious he quit then you should have been able to stop New England...you know, ever, in the second half.

Addendum: my Dolphins have to deal with both of these guys the next two weeks. Awesome.

Nice win for the Titans today. VY hurt his hammy on a 44-yard run, though. Hopefully he'll be good for next week (Warp's Dolphins), but there's already talk it may be Collins for that game. I was hoping for more CJ yardage today, but he didn't even hit the 125 average he'll need to reach 2,000.

Also, I don't know whether to start thinking playoffs again for the Titans or not. Winning out is still not likely, but is very possible. With as many 7-6 and 6-7 teams as are out there, 9-7 seems like it could end up being a playoff berth. Am I just talking crazy?

They didn't say he quit every play just some. Also anyone who has ever watched Moss in any game he has ever played you know he quits on plays that have little to do with him. Mainly on plays where it is run to the opposite side or at least supposed to. He has been caught before doing nothing when the RB reverses field and comes his way. He has also given up on routes after it is thrown leading to INT's. This happened today supposedly and is why Gamble and Harris were asked about it.

I would say you are but I haven't given up hope for my 49ers yet so I would be hypocritical if I did.

Either way at this point I'd just as soon the Titans win out. Unless we make the playoffs we likely won't fall out of the 15-19 range in the draft, so the difference between 6-10 and 9-7 at this point isn't big enough to ignore the slim, outside possibility we might make the playoffs on a fluke three or four way tie.

Interestingly enough, Mike Keith (voice of the Titans) was on the radio the other day and didn't rule out the possibility of the Titans trading up into the top 10 to make a run at a McCoy, Suh, Berry, etc. type impact defensive player (whoever ends up falling outside the top 5 or so). That would be extremely interesting.

I'm curious what the 49ers will do with their two 1st rd picks. Both are likely going to be between picks 10-20. I would prefer to keep both and get OL and perhaps a CB. I don't want to trade up to get one top pick as they cost so much more and we have more than one need. I also don't care to trade down since we can get two good players with those picks.

It might make good sense to trade down with one of those picks. There will still be lots of really good players in the middle of the 1st round, so a team might make a really good offer for one of those picks. Then you get the 10-20 talent level player with one pick and still have 2-3 more decent picks extra.

Depends on what is offered obviously but I'm not opposed to picking up a 2nd and 3rd for one of the 1st rders.

I'm happy enough with these positions that I wouldn't want to use a 1st rd pick on: RB, QB, WR, C, TE, OLB, ILB and DT. That leaves G, OT, DE, CB and S. Of those positions DE would be the lowest on my list because Justin Smith is perhaps the best 3-4 DE in the league and Ray McDonald has shown promise. After that I would say go by what falls to you.

It's still a possibility, obviously, but as I said before the game, I really think he needed a big game today, like a 175-yardish performance just to give himself some breathing room. I'm rooting for him, but it's going to be close.

Also, I don't know whether to start thinking playoffs again for the Titans or not. Winning out is still not likely, but is very possible. With as many 7-6 and 6-7 teams as are out there, 9-7 seems like it could end up being a playoff berth. Am I just talking crazy?

Den (8-5): vs. Oak, @ Phi, vs. KC
NE (8-5): @ Buf, , vs. Jax, @ Hou
Mia (7-6): @ Ten, vs. Hou, vs. Pitt
NYJ (7-6): vs. Atl, @ Ind, vs. Cin
Balt (7-6): vs. Chi, @ Pit, @ Oak
Jax (7-6): vs. Ind, @ NE, @ Cle
Pitt (6-7): vs. GB, vs. Balt, @ Mia
Hou (6-7): @ StL, vs. Mia, vs. NE
Ten (6-7): vs. Mia, vs. SD, @ Sea

Obviously Tennessee would have to win out and put them at 6-7. Denver, with home games against Oakland and KC, I think is a virtual lock since they have the easiest schedule left and they're a game up already. After that, they would need a few other things:

1) New England to win out since they play Jacksonville and Houston

2) Indianapolis to keep trying for 16-0 (and get to 15-0) since they play Jacksonville and the New York Jets the next two weeks.

3) Pittsburgh needs to lose to Green Bay, then beat both Baltimore and Miami (Key)

If these things happen, you'll have Tenn, Balt and NYJ with seven losses, Mia, Jax, Hou and Pitt with eight losses. I'm not sure of all of the tiebreakers but then they would need the Jets to lose to either Atl or Cincy (Possible) and Baltimore to lose to either Chi or Oak (Less possible) to win it outright.

There are obviously some things that the Titans need to go their way, but it's possible. Ultimately, I think Baltimore and Denver grab the two wild card spots since those two appear to have the easiest schedules left.

I think all three go top 5 maybe top 4. After the Rams as of today Tampa, Cleveland, and Detroit pick next and could all go to those teams. If they pass then maybe 1 could fall. If Detroit and Tampa pass on one of those three they deserve to lose the entire next decade.

The Titans only win 2 tiebreakers if they win out. They don't have to worry about Houston if both win out because the Titans have a better divisional record, and they would win a 2 way tie with Miami because of the upcoming head to head game.

Every other team (Denver, Jacksonville, Baltimore, Jets, Miami in a 3 way tie, Pittsburgh) will all have better conference records than Tennessee. If they finish tied with Jacksonville, Jacksonville would eliminate them based on a better divisional record anyway. New England would be better in the tiebreakers as well if they were thrown into the mix.

So the Titans are going to have to have a lot of games fall right in order to have a shot. They are mathematically alive but the fact that all 7 of their losses came in the AFC is really going to hurt them. I would agree that based on schedules, Denver and Baltimore are the teams I have the hardest time not seeing get to at least 9 wins, and if they both get to 9 wins the Titans are gone. If the Colts rest starters the Jaguars or Jets could easily get there as well.

The good thing about him is that he could have a huge game in the most unlikely of games - i.e. against SD or Miami. As long as he has multiple games left, he has a chance at it, but I agree that's a slim chance.

Thanks for the breakdown. I'm not particularly good at stuff like that. Sounds extremely unlikely (at best), but at least we're not eliminated yet.

Yeah, I wasn't really guessing as to who would be there, moreso just indicating he thought going after an elite pick wasn't out of the question. At that spot it'll probably be more of a Mt. Cody/Rolando McClain/Carlos Dunlap/etc. type player.

I'd take the guy who's actually still good at football.

Figured someone would say this and ignore the crap T.O. is playing with in Buffalo. Since Jauron was fired 4.75 catches 84.75 yards and 0.75 TD's a game. For a season that would equate to 76-1356-12.

I love the refs sucking so much you have to use 2 challenges in the first quarter. The Smith INT I can understand but this Hightower one is woeful. The ref had the perfect angle.

I got home just in time for Warner's second interception. Have the Cards turned the ball over on every drive?

Pretty much. They went 3-and-out the first time out but I think they turned it over every time after that.
