I saw 6 new pages of posts and assumed we signed like 6 top FAs by now.

We did sign one, with 2 more warming in the oven.

We'll see what happens.

I definitely agree if Peppers gets on a plane it's not a good sign for that deal.

I'm more concerned about the QB position, he's the reason the secondary struggled so much. It was so easy to pick him off in practice that they couldn't figure out real QBs in games.

I think it goes beyond "not a good sign" and would definitely mean he's not coming here.

Which if this was a Jake Peavy or Kobe type situation, we should be seeing the "Julius Peppers is heading to Philly" blurb on Rotoworld in about (stealing a line from CubsGM) 5.....4.....3....

RT @Jay_Glazer: Peppers and taylor in chicago taking physicals 6 minutes ago via TweetDeck

Also they were at a bar singing "Bear Down, Chicago Bears."

(j/k, I expect these deals to get done).

Nono, they were signing "Bear Down" on footballs at the hotel bar. But they were really drunk.

Ryan Clark on the radio saying he'd love to be a Bear... was a Bears fan growing up and is a Bulls and Derrick Rose fan. Would love to play in a secondary behind Julius Peppers.

most of it's up front though, meaning he's only getting 5.5 mil over the last 3 years. he should be pretty serviceable next season.

Apparently, Minnesota was pretty upset about him coming here. Heard something about them having flown somebody out to try to talk to him and get him to stay.

after this year, it's not much, but after this year he'll just be that much older.

And you can cut him with very little ramifications

Bernstein on B&B suggesting that there's more going on at Halas Hall than all the free agency [expletive] right now... mentioned that draft day could be more interesting than we thought, the implication seemingly being that Olsen could be on his way out...

I'm not saying it's a bad deal, I just think that's a lot to pay for an old backup RB.

But he hasnt taken the beating most 30 yr old RB's have either. I just have lot less problem with these kind of deals in the NFL the way their contracts are structured.

I am convinced he's gone, and the Bears are going to try and get picks in the 2nd somehow.
