What did Boldin get traded for? A first rounder? I would have liked Boldin better and he didn't get crazy money once he signed. If they released Brown to go after a top flight receiver, I would be happy. But from what I have heard, the Bears are comfortable with their receivers. And that is exactly the problem with the Bears' front office.

A 3rd and a 4th.

How did the Bears not jump on that?

They probably wanted at least 1 draft pick this year.

If you think about out, in that scenario we'd trade our first 4 picks in the draft for what amounts to Jay Cutler and Boldin. 2 solid players, but doesn't help us address a ton of needs. Also you have to consider that it wasn't Cutler for this years first, it was last years and this years first plus orton plus a 3rd or whatever it was. So 4 draft picks would get us 1/5th of the Cutler trade and Boldin (and a dead guy)

First rounder? Surely he could be had for less.

Broncos have been holding out for a first rounder for him.

You would have liked Boldin better than Marshall??

No Rob Sims for us...

Lions traded for him.

For a friggin' 5th rd pick no less.

Well they'd have probably released him if it came down to it, but with both the Lions and Bears wanting him, the Seahawks got something out of it.

"So far I have a great feeling about my role this year," Olsen tweeted. "I have no desire to play anywhere but in Chicago. That was purely media speculation."

"I think those reports have been blown outa (sic) proportion," Olsen wrote. "I (put) my blocking up against any other pass catching (tight end).

"I just think media survives off controversy. (You) fans deserve facts."

Apparently Greg is answering questions on his Twitter right now.

Bears re-sign Pisa Tinoisamoa per Yahoo Sports for a 1 year deal

Lets hope we get more than two games out of him this year

You're such a greedy SOB.

I'm choosing to be optimistic on this. Pisa's been hurt the past 2 seasons. A 3rd in a row would be unbelievably unfortunate, and probably even outrageously unlucky.

I think Pisa has a very solid season in '10/'11.

sustaining a season-ending injury in the first game of the season is pretty much outrageously unlucky in itself. hell, sustaining a season-ending injury at any time during a season is fairly unlucky. just based on the odds, and completely eliminating the outcome of past seasons to be the predictor (which of course is the correct course of action), he'd have to be unlucky for it to happen to him this year.

Only if you assume that being injured is an independent random event. That's not completely true.

Biases, blind spots, fallacies.

I'm staying optimistic dammit!

This is going to be the year that Mike Brown finally stays healthy for us.

i have no idea what the numbers are in terms of a player aggravating a previously surgically repaired injury the year before but i know that i can't recall one off the top of my head in the last 10 years.

if that's what you're talking about.

this is not a player with a degenerative injury, this is a player that tore a ligament that was a repaired. it's more likely his production suffers.
