I seriously may not watch this year. You have to be intentionally sabotaging the team to make this trade. This is one of the worst trades ever, period.

I'm actually embarrassed to be a Cubs fan right now.

Why? It's not like we booed a good player to the point he had to be traded for an awful pitcher with an awful contract.

So all of a sudden this is just the fans fault? There's a lot of blame to go around and you make it seem Bradley is a little angel who can do no wrong. The reality is Bradley is a head case who could not handle the pressure. Hendry made things worse by suspending him and ensuring he lost all of his trade value in the process.

Brandon Morrow-R-Mariners Dec. 18 - 11:54 am et

A source has informed FOXSports.com that the Mariners are trying to trade right-hander Brandon Morrow for a hitter.

I suppose if we miraculously were to get Morror in the deal, it wouldnt help as much. After all, Bradley has his problems, but is still a good player, and Silva, well, isnt.

Nah if we got Morrow in this deal it would be a good trade. Milton might be a good player, but you also gotta consider he has very little value at this point. Morrow would then be the main piece in the deal, and Silva you can let battle for the 5th spot or long reliever spot and if he sucks well then release him or hide him on the DL. That said it's probably unlikely we get him as a throw in this deal. I think more realisticly we would probably get some money in return so we can use on other players.

It's only been 45 years since the Lou Brock trade. I'm not saying Milton Bradley is a Hall of Famer but intentionally taking on the Carlos Silva contract... it has to be a cry for help. Someone should institutionalize Hendry for his own benefit.

I already decided I'm treating them like I did the last two months last season. I'll watch them if I have absolutely nothing to do, but I will not actively take time out of my life to watch them.

Lou Brock was shitty as a Cub, I've seen the numbers. The fact that he went HOF for the Cardinals really wasn't the Cubs' fault. This trade absolutely is.

Bruce says this is a serious rumor but it isn't finished yet and the Cubs may get some financial relief out of it:

I hope Bruce is right because wouldn't the better move have been just to release Milton if the deal was a straight up swap?

Nah if the Mariners send you salary that covers some of a chunk of Bradley salary you still save money. So even if Silva goes to spring training and blows. The Cubs could release him, and still end up saving more money then releasing Bradley from the start. So the key to this deal is the money. If the Cubs don't get any or no money this deal is just horrible. But if we do get a decent amount of money, it might just be ok. Since we could use that money on other players still.

Does Silva have any moral clauses in his contract? Maybe we can hire a private detective to follow him around in case he has a dogfighting ring.

The meatball cub fans will love this move simply because Bradley is out of town. Silva is a terrible return for Milton.

What does it mean to call someone a meatball anyway?

Meatballs are the lowest common denominator Chicago sports fan. They want the Bears' head coach to show fire and passion, the Bears to win in bear weather, boo Cubs players unnecessarily, like small ball, etc.

To everyone that is "done", "jumping ship", "not watching". Good Riddance.

Other than complaining on a message board, how else are people supposed to show their frustration at having an idiot run the team?

I love the Cubs, but watching them and having that viewed as supporting Hendry's ability to do his job makes me sad. And mad.

I'm already in the boat of watching my Hawkeye basketball team and the Raiders get run into the ground, I don't need another one in the same position.

At least we still have Hawkeye football!

This trade made the Iowa Cubs a lot more interesting.

If the deal includes Morrow, I would be pretty pleased. It obviously has to have cash coming back to the Cubs. Maybe it needs Selig's approval for cash considerations before it is done.

Wow they just called his numbers in Minnesota, good numbers.

Why is there a comma there?

Because he hit that little button to the right of the M key.

the cubs could have traded milton bradley for satan, and dumbass cubs fans would love the move.

carlos silva is horrible. hendry is a moron for taking him. just outright release milton for christ's sake.
