didn't Pryor pick OSU b/c he wanted to run a pro-style offense to improve his chances of success in the NFL?

Yes, he did. Of course, you have to have a quality arm and be able to read defensive backfields to run a pro-style offense though. Two things he can't do.

This might be a really dumb question, but who was the last OSU qb to have a somewhat successful NFL career?

Kent Graham?

They've never really had one.

Alabama-LSU is going to set college football back 50 years.

I noticed that Duke got three points in this week's USA Today poll. It has to be the first time in years that they've gotten votes other than the traditional 25th place vote Steve Spurrier always used to give them in the preseason poll.

Coach Cut is doing a heluva job there.

Nobody could really ask more of him at this point.

If Duke beats UNC and GT takes care of Wake, it sets up what is effectively the ACC Coastal championship game.

No one would have predicted Duke having a chance at anything this season.

why is everyone so sure that Pryor is a moron and can't read defenses? He sure isn't performing well at OSU, no question. But he's also just a sophomore, running an offense that's relatively new to him and OSU doesn't seem to know how to use him well. Is he failing out of classes or was he getting like a 1.8 in HS or something? Why are so many people positive that he's stupid?

Agreed. Maybe that Cutcliffe guy can coach? As a Tennessee fan, I still have to wonder what the hell Ole Miss was thinking when they fired this guy and hired YawYawYaw.

not a moran, just a low football IQ

Pryor's comment on Mike Vick is pretty conclusive evidence that he is dumb. Football dumb, thats hard to say. He's still a sophomore so he still has time to develop but being as talented as he is he's not living up to his abilities compared to other sophomore qbs in the past.

I can't imagine Duke wins the next two games, but if they could..

WTF, why did Boise go for 2 up 8?

Honestly, they have to win by as much as possible vs Louisiana Tech. I think that may have factored into the decision.

I can see style points, but it's one point and going for 2 decreases your chance of winning at all.

Go LA Tech!

What's the beef against Boise?

Just rooting for the underdog and don't think Boise deserves to be ranked in the top 10. They had one good win against Oregon to start the season and haven't played a good team since.

It's a tough spot for Boise though. What do they have to do to be highly ranked if they go by your criteria? What good team would want to play Boise State? Major conference teams don't gain anything from it...and they stand to potentially lose a lot.

They really need to get out of that conference.

There was a story this week - buried in the whole "WAC hires PR firm to help Boise get to BCS" hubbub - about how Boise has a slot left on their 2011 schedule and are trying everything they can to get a BCS conference team to host them for a one-off. Boise's not even asking for a return trip, they just want a road game against a BCS team. And they can't get one.

This is what I hate about the dumb system more than anything else. There's this one guy on another board who keeps saying that it's Boise's fault that they're not ranked higher because of not scheduling better nonconference opponents. Yeah, way easier said than done, obviously.

2011 is pretty short notice for football scheduling, but yeah, even if you have an open date scheduling Boise is an awful idea for a good BCS team. There's really no easy fix for this either, other than for Boise to keep winning every game (good likelihood of going undefeated this year + 21! returning starters next year = decent chance of this), or have the MWC take Boise and two more good CUSA/WAC teams and push for automatic status.

Boise, TCU, BYU, Fresno, Houston, Southern Miss would be a decent starting point for a new BCS conference.

I was researching via a website called FBSchedules.com to see what teams have Sept. 3, 2011 open (Boise's lone non-conference date that they're looking to fill) and was compiling a list but lost it all because of an accidental click elsewhere. But at least half the BCS conference teams have that date open as of now.
