What's the news with Yao, anyway?

There isn't any that I have heard of, at least nothing official. I haven't looked real hard though as he will not be coming back this season so my interest to scour for news is limited. If he had a chance to come back this season I would be searching for stuff to get an idea of the date he would be coming back.

I'd be very worried if I were a Rockets fan. I doubt Yao is ever as good as he was. Giants generally don't so very well with injuries to their feet and legs.

cleveland is now 1-3 against charlotte this season. maybe it's just a fluke, but it would be interesting if they ended up playing in the first round.

Charlotte is a terrific defensive team. A combination of Tyrus Thomas playing out of his mind and a back-to-back game after the tough loss to Denver had a part in the loss, but Wallace, Jackson and Felton are eating up offenses. They are going to be tough for anybody in the playoffs.

I worried he will re-injure it not whether or not he will be the same player when he gets back. He was pretty widely considered the slowest and least athletic player in the league already so he won't be losing anything there. All he does is use his weight to get position in the paint and then turn and do hooks or takes jump shots that he is very good at. Having no athletic ability won't change any of that.

Martin goes 3 for 16 in his Rockets debut with a (-10) +/- and the Rockets lose by 10 at home against Indiana. Good God I hope this isn't a sign to come. I really hope his anemic shooting this season stops and the Rockets actually start winning some games.

Oh and to top it off McGrady kills it in his Knicks debut. I really think we could have brought him back next season at discounted price and had a real contender (and a playoff team this year) with Brooks and Landry having emerged and Yao back.

Nope it is a sign of things to come. 3-16 will be a regular night for him. Ignore everything else he has ever done and focus on that game.

You mean the shooting under 40% this season? Sure he was great but he has had injuries and I'm afraid he isn't capable of playing at the level he did in previous seasons. Time will tell. I hope he can play at previous levels but it doesn't look like it.

Why in the hell would McGrady re-sign with Houston if they didn't trade him?

I meaning if they had been playing him rather than banishing him.

Kevin Durant (aged 21) has scored 25+ points in 28 straight games, and is 0.1 ppg behind LeBron for league lead. Also, OKC is on a 9 game winning streak and is currently the #5 seed in the West.

So glad I'm not a Portland fan these days.

29 games now after he put up 36 last night, though the 9 game winning streak is now over. They said yesterday the last person to have a streak that long was Jordan in the 86-87 season.

Kobe single handedly beat the Grizzlies last night scoring the Lakers last 9 points. Then hitting a 3 with 4 seconds left putting them up by one. Oh and Mayo choded at the line right before Kobe's 3. Very dissapointing loss.

I'm not sure how you can say that. Durant's one of the best scorers in the league.

Depends on team needs I would say. Roy is more like DWade in that he is a PG who scores basically. Durant is more Kobe in that he doesn't bring the ball up much and just creates in the half court. They are similar players but not the same.

Given a choice I would take Durant though as I think Roy's ceiling is a great player but clearly not in the best conversation while Durant's ceiling is as high as anyone's can get if your name isn't LeBron.
