And let me be the first to wish Michigan all the luck in the world as they attempt to move to .500 all-time against Division I-AA opponents.

Go Irish. Don't get beat by 30 again.

I might be crazy, but I'm as amped for this one as I've ever been for a USC game, except maybe 05 - and then only because I had tickets to it. If Jimmy can pull off this miracle it'll be hard for him not to be the Heisman front-runner.

If Texas beats OK, McCoy will remain the front runner. I think ND gives USC a good game.

Lou Holtz is that you?

Even with a good game against USC, I still have McCoy as the unquestioned favorite for the Heisman Trophy, especially if he/Texas can beat Oklahoma.

Colt McCoy hasn't been all that great this season. He's not even in the top 20 of QBs in efficiency this year. He's behind the likes of VT's Tyrod Taylor, FSU's Christian Ponder, and OU's Landry Jones, of course. Jimmy Clausen has 100 more yards passing, two more TDs and four fewer interceptions despite 40 fewer attempts.

Maybe, just maybe a non QB can win the award this year?

All meaningless when faced against the Heisman hype machine. Media voting for any award is scary, look Jeter is actually a MVP candidate in baseball. McCoy has it in the bag as long as they win, if they falter than Tebow will replace him.

Wisconsin scares the hell out of me. I didn't see their game yesterday but it looks like they were pretty successful on both sides of the ball just got killed by a couple pick-6's and a kick return.

Iowa matches up better with their offense than a lot of the opponents they've had. Don't know if we win without a major improvement in the running game though.

I think the only thing I have figured out about the Big Ten is that Illinois is terrible. With that said they will probably beat Indiana Saturday night and no one will notice. I think I would pick Wisconsin over Iowa at Wisconsin, so Iowa will probably win.

I'll go out on as limb and say there is a chance for a ton of "upsets" this week. OU, ND, Texas Tech Wisconsin and Mizzou are all pretty reasonable IMHO. Of those ND and Wisconsin might be the only ones that are not favored. I could envision Tulsa and Arkansas winning too.

early lines for games of note:

texas -3 vs oklahoma

iowa -1 @ wisconsin

minnesota @ penn state -16.5 (nobody cares except me, probably)

south carolina @ alabama -17

usc -11 @ notre dame

california -3 @ ucla

aTm -5 @ kansas st (thought line would be bigger, k-state is awful)

va tech -3 @ ga tech (big game for the ACC coastal, which actually has three good teams - va tech, miami, ga tech. ACC atlantic, on the other hand, is downright bad)

illinois -3 @ indiana (big ten toilet bowl)

kansas -10 @ colorado

navy -7 @ smu... not really an important game, but it's a team that doesn't pass versus a june jones team, which is fun.

I'm amazed that texas is only -3

On the Heisman thing, stats really don't matter this year. Landry Jones, as well as many other players, has better stats than Mccoy and Tebow but this is mccoy's year to win the award. As much as Mccoy has been trying to give away the award by being terrible, it honestly doesn't matter. If tebow wins out it might be a competition though.

McCoy being terrible is a huge overstatement.
