So the theme is "Get more atlethic" right?

Bradley for Matthews Jr. Fits the bill. Athletic, CF who bats LH. Seems like the easiest solution. Moreno is more than likely to gamble because he has a TON of FA this offseason and doesn't have a problem eating money of it doesn't work. Bradley would like Anaheim because its a large market but shawdowed by the Dodgers. The only issue would be for him to buy into the "Team" baseball concept in Anaheim. Clearly this would be a problem but something that if anyone could fix it would be Sciossia.

Moreno is coming to the Angels Charity Golf Tournament at the hotel I work at on Thursday. Should I propose the deal? :P

According to Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune, Mike Cameron is expected to be on the Cubs' radar during the offseason.

The Cubs would like to move Kosuke Fukudome back to right field, and since 2006 first-round pick Tyler Colvin probably won't be ready to be a full-time player in 2010, Cameron would be a pretty good fit. Even better, the Cubs won't have to worry about any distractions, as Cameron has one of the best reputations in the game. The 36-year-old veteran is batting .255/.348/.453 with 21 homers and 64 RBI this season. He slugged two home runs against the Cubs on Monday night.

IMHO Cameron would= the 2009 equivelant of Jeromy Burnitz

I think Mike Cameron is quite a bit better than Burnitz with the glove and the bat.

What's funny is that we're going to spend money on an "athletic" outfielder when we had a perfectly good 23 year old athletic centerfielder just a year ago...

he should've gotten more of a chance to play regularly last year, but a hell of a lot of people didn't think he was perfectly good a year ago.

Yeah, the Cubs have given Aaron Miles twice as many ABs this year as they gave Felix in '08.

They've given Scales more ABs as well. That REALLY baffles me.

Hes over the hill, mediocre at best, and we dont need him. Thats all the similarity I need. We already have 2 strong defensive outfielders who are streaky offensively.

Mediocre at best? How is a career 800 OPS from a CF mediocre? And thats not even including his D. 800OPS plus above average D is far far from mediocre. Id have no problem with Cameron if it was on a 1 year deal with a club option for a 2nd, depending on how much money it would cost the Cubs. We could do alot worse than signing Mike Cameron.

Not true, definitely not true, arguable. That was easy.

YUCK YUCK YUCK!

ESPN.com's Jayson Stark hears that the Cubs will likely try to move Milton Bradley for another "problem" player this offseason. Eric Byrnes, Pat Burrell and Bronson Arroyo haven't been discussed, but they are the kind of expensive player the Cubs might consider trading Bradley away for. There will likely be takers for the unpredictable outfielder, despite his year-long struggle in Chicago.

Eric Byrnes hahaha

Byrnes wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. The guy murders lefties and plays good D, he'd be like a super expensive Reed Johnson. Not ideal but if we're selling Bradley for pennies on the dollar we could do worse.

Byrnes has a .230 .278 .514 line against LHP this year, they need to get that murderer off the street.

You're right though, it's not the worst idea, playing with only 2 OF would be the worst idea.

Byrnes vs. lefties the last three seasons:

2009: .230/.278/.514

2008: .258/.333/.484

2007: .248/.331/.455

I wouldn't exactly say he "murders lefties".

Id definitely be interested in Pat the Bat. It would be a horrible outfield defensively, but the Rays were very interested in MB last offseason. Burrell has had a very forgettable season, but he could be the best return were going to get.

Cameron would be better, but I'd have an interest in Burrell.

Is there any chance that Bradley isn't traded to Baltimore?

I imagine Hendry's gonna have to call in a favor to get rid of Bradley, and Florida and Oakland don't seem like good destinations for Milton.

The Reds owe the Cubs a favor for drafting and trading Josh Hamilton. Time to call that favor in. :D

If Dusty is still around that might not be a bad idea. Milton and Dusty would be a match made in heaven.

The Cubs apparently were interested in signing Milton prior to the 2006 season and Dusty and Milton met and apparently that didn't go well.

One of the only good decisions Dusty made in Chicago...

In 08 and 09 he's been hurt by hte BABIP gods a good deal, a .211 this year and a .265 last year. Murder was probably too strong but he's very good against lefties and is a good defender.
