it's not every week you get to beat the 9th best team in the worst BCS conference in america, notre dame. soak it up.

The Big East only has 8 teams

OMG IOWA!!!! Hopefully this is the beginning of a special special season.

I thought losing to UNI was pretty special

uni would be 11 point favorites against penn state.

lol.

if it was played at the uni dome. penn state wouldn't stand a chance in that environment.

In all seriousness though that was a fun game to watch. I think we both have good D's (althoug that could have been a product of bad offense). I still think Penn State finishes in the top 3 of the conference (although the conference may not be that great so who knows if that means much).

We'll never know......Penn State doesn't schedule anyone as tough as UNI

You have 15 seconds left and a timeout and you run a desperation last second play?

Pretty terrible, along with basically running the prevent defense when Notre Dame was already in the red zone. The Purdue coach is pretty terrible.

Notre Dame may be the first team in history to have votes in the AP poll and lose them all with two straight wins. Horrendously unimpressive.

Granted, our three best players were hurt and two didn't even play, but we should have won by 20 anyway. Charlie Weis with a pretty horribly called game.

That being said, I'd rather say all this crap after a win than a loss.

So Notre Dame barely squeaks by two teams that lost to MAC teams this year.

3 wins vs. teams with a combined 2-8 record. Two of which they could have lost.

I have no reason to believe that Notre Dame should beat anyone by 20.

What do you think of Weis as a coach? I don't really know what ND fans think of him.

I really want to like him. He's a decent (not great, but decent) offensive coordinator, and a fantastic recruiter. But he's made some horrible staff choices (Minter and Tenuta as DCs, John Latina as OL coach), he gets too cute way too damn often, and he completely and totally lacks the ability to finish teams off (ND lost 3 games last year in which they led by double digits in the 2nd half, and they should have 2 more such losses this year but was bailed out both times).

If tonight was a sign of what we can expect to see without Floyd, it looks like that injury may finish him at Notre Dame.

apparently the buzz around campus is that bradford has been cleared to play against miami. No real sources yet.

They have looked great without him, he shouldn't play unless he is 100%. Though I know they would want to get him some snaps prior to the Texas game.

our defense hasn't allowed a point since byu (that includes the best offense last season in terms of yards, Tulsa), only 14 all season. If our offensive line can hold up, we'll be hard to beat.

You def have to question his decisions at the end of games. I don't doubt his qualities as an offensive coordinator, but he doesn't seem like he's cut out to be a good coach.

You're telling me. Michigan's "signature win" looks worse and worse every week. Michigan is gonna get slaughtered once it gets into the meat of the Big 10 schedule. But that's ok, all I want is bowl eligibility...and with Delaware State a virtual lock (waits for App State jokes), we only need to win 1 of the other 7 games to get there.

Miami and FSU both losing is just fantastic

Knowing that PSU got pimp-slapped by Iowa again this year probably tempers your enthusiasm, however.

well that is actually true.

I think maybe I'm starting to get over the IU loss today. That was so brutal. To play Michigan that close at Ann Arbor and fail to finish the game.........it just took a lot out of me. I just hope those kids realize they can be something special this season, clean up the penalties and red zone offense and win a few Big Ten games. Going bowling again would be special.

i don't see why. penn st isn't good, michigan st is lousy, wisconsin is okay, etc. the only teams definitely better than michigan are ohio st and probably iowa.

Hey, just be happy we've already won more games this season than we did last season. Progress.

Michigan has one of the youngest team in the nation. They'll prob get to bowl eligibility, but they are definitely going to struggle against teams like Iowa, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Ohio State. They'll have a decent chance against MSU, Purdue, and Illinois.

Its hard to gauge a whole lot on the last two wins you guys had, even over Tulsa. The next two games will say a lot leading up to Texas. Baylor should not be overlooked the week before.
