Anyone but the Cardinals.

This.

And if you're a Cub fan and rooting for the Cardinals...you're a sick human being.

that's only, like, your opinion man

For true Cub fans, especially those born and raised on Cubs baseball in Chicago, I think it holds up as gospel. You wouldn't see a Chicago Bears fan rooting for the Packers to win a Super Bowl.

I really have no one to root for or against this time. Above all, I'd like to see the Series go seven games - delay the inevitable as long as possible.

I'm just hoping for an Angels-Twins ALCS and the winner of the Rockies-Phillies series to play in the World Series.

However, I'm fully anticipating a Yankees-Cardinals World Series that I won't watch a minute of.

Angels vs Twins in the ALCS

Cardinals vs Phillies in the NLCS

Is how we want to see it break down, but this years playoffs has a chance to actually be a good one as both the Red Sox and Yankees can get knocked out in the first round.

i'm rooting for the yankees to win with significant contributions from arod, just to see the media lose their minds

.455/.500/1.000 line so far, keep it up!

I'm right with you. The problem is that Jeter is playing really well too. Having him go hitless would have been even better

The only problem is the media is going to start talking about how ARod suddenly figured something out about postseason play and that's why he's hitting now when he couldn't before.

Viewership numbers for the LDS are in.

ESPN's five-week streak as cable's most-watched network in prime time ended, as TBS' coverage of Major League Baseball's playoffs helped it average 5.41 million for its prime-time programming, the most in its 33-year history.

For the week ended Oct. 11, TBS enjoyed its best deliveries in its 33-year history, averaging 5.41 million total viewers, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day ratings data. The Turner network also put together a record demo performance, averaging 2.54 million adults 25-54, 2.46 million viewers 18-49 and 1.12 million viewers 18-34.

Among total viewers, TBS’ average delivery marked a 232 percent improvement over its prior-week average (1.63 million).

TBS laid claim to seven of the week’s top 10 most-watched telecasts, including: Game 3 of the Yankees-Twins ALDS (6.79 million viewers); Game 1 of that same series (6.61 million) and the Tigers-Twins play-in game on Oct. 6, which drew 6.54 million viewers. Other big draws were: Game 2 of the Yankees-Twins series (6.48 million viewers); Game 2 of the Cardinals-Dodgers NLDS (5.18 million); Game 2 of the Red Sox-Angels ALDS (5.07 million) and Game 1 of the Cards-Dodgers showdown (4.97 million).

For the 2009 LDS, TBS garnered double-digit increases in ratings, total viewers and households. Over the course of 13 LDS games, TBS averaged a 3.1 US household rating, up 11%, and an 11% increase in total viewers (4,769,000 vs. 4,282,000) when compared to the 2008 LDS. In addition, the 2009 LDS has averaged 3,575,000 households, an increase of 11%.

Each LDS had strong ratings and household deliveries:

* The Minnesota Twins/New York Yankees series earned a 4.2 U.S. household rating and 6,616,000 total viewers.

* The Twins/Yankees series averaged a 21.2 rating in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market and a 14.3 rating in the New York market.

* The St. Louis Cardinals/Los Angeles Dodgers series delivered a 3.1 U.S. household rating, and 4,721,000 total viewers.

* The Cardinals/Dodgers series averaged a 18.1 rating in the St. Louis market and a 8.3 rating in the Los Angeles market.

* The Colorado Rockies/Philadelphia Phillies series earned a 2.5 U.S. household rating and 3,816,000 total viewers.

* The Rockies/Phillies series averaged a 18.7 rating in the Philadelphia market and a 13.6 rating in the Denver market.

* The Boston Red Sox/Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim series earned a 2.6 U.S. household rating and 3,966,000 total viewers.

* The Red Sox/Angels series averaged a 13.9 rating in the Boston market and a 7.3 rating in the Los Angeles market.

The above figures don't include the numbers from Monday night (4.0 national metered-market rating, 26.0 rating in Philadelphia and an 18.3 rating in Denver.)

They likely could have posted better numbers if even one of the series had gone to a Game 5.

TBS broadcast 13 playoff games instead of a maximum of 20.

David Levy, president of sales, distribution and sports for Turner Broadcasting System, said the broadcaster still hit its revenue projections for this round of the playoffs – but will miss out on the chance to pad the profits.

The network partially made up for it by selling ads for an unexpected season-ending tiebreaker between Detroit and Minnesota on Oct. 6.

I think I can enjoy the Yanks/Angels. Rooting for the Angels of course.

Dodgers/Phils is more of the same, but I think that has potential to be a decent series too.

I'm sort of liking these playoffs, now that the Cards/Red Sox are gone.

The elimination of the Cardinals and to a lesser extent the Red Sox has made the playoffs much more watchable for me!

Kind of the opposite for me. While I wanted the Cardinals to lose more than anything, at least I had something to rout for, or in this case against. Now its just 4 teams, and whatever happens happens. I guess Ill go with the Yankees. My dad is a lifelong Yankees fan, and my first baseball games I ever went to were at the House that Ruth Built.

And it was the Dodgers who actually did the routing.
