I wonder if Cutler starts slowly in this game that the meatball army at Soldier Field will give him the Rex treatment. I sure hope not.

I'm expecting a ton of boos.

No, not right away. Surely not even the Bear fan mob will do that.

If he throws a few picks though, all bets are off.

Last I saw Pittsburgh was favored by 2.5 but it might be off the board right now with multiple injuries. Urlacher is going to have some sort of wrist surgery, and I wouldn't be surprised if he was out until after the bye week (three more games).

Polamalu being out is a big help for the passing game, but Cutler can throw picks to anybody.

Call me crazy but Urlacher isn't the best or most important defensive player, and losing him isn't as bad as losing a couple other guys on this team. Cutler, Forte, Harris and Briggs could all be bigger losses. They are deep at LB.

It's a blow, but it shouldn't prevent them from being a team that can win its division if the rest of the defense stays solid and the offense improves.

I think coming after that game last night it hurts a little more as a fan though.

I understand what you are saying, but there was a noticable difference in the D when Urlacher went out. They were stuffing the run all game until he went out, and then GB just started running up the middle at will. Losing Urlacher is a big blow

It's funny, people always talk a lot about Urlacher but it doesn't seem like he's made any big plays for the last season and a half. That could be because the other side concentrates on taking him out of plays and that frees things up for other people. I guess we'll see.

I won't miss the Urlacher blitz up the middle, find the fullback and then make sure he blocks you rather than trying to get to the QB play that I've seen so much the last couple years.

Last night was an embarrassment.

I don't dislike Turner, I hate him. I really do. How many free passes must Chicago fans continue giving Hendry and Turner.

I blame the coaching for the Mannelly decision. At no time should the long snapper on a professional football team have the power to make decisions of any kind on the football field other than snapping the ball to his kicker.

To have 8 minutes left in a football game and have no time outs left is another blunder of magnificent proportions.

It's an even bigger embarrassment to me that just 4 days ago, I was laughing that 3 teams fired their offensive coordinators less than a week before the start of the football season. At least those teams had the balls to admit that they had the wrong guy for the job. We just keep pretending we have a good one, which makes it all the more embarrassing.

And I'm so looking forward to Hunter Hillenmeyer in the middle of the Bears defense. He looked like a fool last night and he will be exploited even more by better teams as the season progresses.

I wasn't really all that disappointed in the players. The series in which Cutler through his first interception certainly didn't make me joyful, but I felt like he could get past that, and I think he did.

The Packers keyed on certain players, and Cutler found guys like Bennett and Knox. He has the tools to see past the defensive schemes and make things happen. Although he really does need to establish a way better rapport with his receivers.

The coaching staff has a whole lot to be embarrassed about, however. Starting with a long snapper making his own decisions on the field. Kick the ball first, then bitch about how many men are on the field, not vice versa.
