he denies it and she has no physical injuries, so maybe i'm ignorant here, but was he just arrested based on the charges that she made?

Are you implying a classy lady like Tila Tequila would lie?

He probably strangled her during sex but she was left unsatisfied due to shrinkage from roids.

ok i get it he's a d-bag and a roider, but if someone accuses you of a crime and there's no evidence that you did it, why do you get arrested?

Because you're famous, have tattoos, and a d-bag reputation.

But yeah, without any physical evidence it seems pretty iffy.

You forgot the part where Tila made out with the policewoman so Merriman would get arrested.

If they have any reason to suspect there was domestic violence, the police have to take the guy in don't they? It doesn't mean charges will be filed though.

Sure they can question anyone. But arresting someone usually happens once they are sure charges will follow.

It was a citizens arrest by Tila. The police haven't filed charges.

You can do that? How does that even work? Does Tile just tell Merriman that he's under arrest, and then call in the police to take him into custody?

Check this out:

In California, for example, To make an arrest, a private person, if the offense is a felony, may break open the door or window of the house in which the person to be arrested is, or in which they have reasonable grounds for believing the person to be, after having demanded admittance and explained the purpose for which admittance is desired.

I'd like to know exactly how she performed the citizen's arrest on Merriman. Apparently the authorities aren't complaining, so I can only assume she did it right.

Reality star Tequila signed a citizen's arrest form according to multiple reports, and the football player was taken into custody on suspicion of battery and false imprisonment, both felonies, and then released on bail, while Tequila was taken to a local hospital with no visible injuries.

I think basically you can fill out a form and have the police do the dirty work of taking the person into custody. I don't know the full details. But it doesn't sound like the police are too convinced if they haven't filed charges.

Yeah, still no charges or physical evidence... color me super skeptical.

Although, the thought of merriman jacking her in the face then doing the lights out dance is enough to make me LOL for a while.

I'm sure that gif is on it's way.

The accusation of someone else is "evidence" enough to make an arrest. In fact, some states have a law that once a police officer arrives at a domestic dispute, the officer must make an arrest even if no one wants to press charges. If you listen to the beginning of the 911 call by Tonya Harding's boyfriend that he made while she was beating him, the first thing he says even before describing the scene is to ask if he'll be arrested if the cops arrive.

Apparently (according to sports center this morning) the story is now that Tila was - according to merriman - too intoxicated and thus he tried to stop her from leaving the house. Which, really, isn't at all believable. I mean, it's not like she created her stage name directly referencing alcohol or anything.

This was the story a couple days ago, and she refuted it by saying she's allergic to alcohol and that it's publicly known.

Ah. That's what I get for thinking ESPN has up to date news.

And, she's allergic to alcohol? Interesting.

She's this tiny thing, little more than a skeleton with some skin stretched over it.

Merriman's a monster. He choked her and there's not one iota of physical evidence?

Color me super skeptical, as well. There would be all kinds of bruising, marks everywhere. Couldn't have happened like she says.

Maybe he made a choking gesture in the air at her because she wouldn't shut up.
