now let's be fair to larry horse, guys. a quick look at his profile page tells me that this is his most active topic on NSBB. you may recognize his smug, self-satisfied attitude that you see in this thread, as he repeatedly declares the 2007 cubs dead from late april to late june. and that confidence was indeed justified, as the 2007 cubs season indeed ended with only a division title but NOTHING MORE.

anyone with such a long history of rational thought deserves the benefit of the doubt on this topic.

(a) that was during a game almost 3 months ago; lots of people say lots of things during games. \

(b) people like you are the reason that bradley hates fans, and frankly the reason that i hate a lot of fans too.

So Bradley has gone from a piece of s**t 3 months ago (according to his manager) to a man who deserves every benefit of the doubt so much so that you have jumped on board with Bradley's line of thinking regarding fans. Ponder that one over. You're taking up with Bradley's viewpoint. I wonder if he was on any other team and acted like he has this year, what you're opinion of him would be.

If you're a big fan of division titles, more power to you Truffle. After 30+ years of Cubs games, titles are what I want. Does that make my postings "smug" and "self-satisfied"? Great, I'll wear it. Sadly, this is a team that proves me right year after year. That doesn't make me happy. Criticizing moves by or players on the Cubs doesn't make anyone more or less of a Cubs fan.

And going as far as checking profile pages to try and justify an argument? I can see why you side with Bradley.

"This whole 7 teams in 9 years thing is incredibly misleading. How do you feel about Reggie Sanders. Was he run out of town 22 years in a row?"

SS Ryan, did I post something incorrect? Any scenario or time frame or reason why, he's been with 7 teams in 9 years. Now if he was with 4 teams in the last 9 years, my statement would be "incredibly misleading". There's usually a reason why a guy bounces around so much.

Reggie Sanders? Has Sanders behavior been a problem in the past?

Haha! The usual Bradley defenders keep making excuses for his sad season and his piss poor attitude. Makes you wonder if they have watched Bradley all year.

my spreadsheets tell me he's a good player and that's all i need to see

Bradley has not had a great season, that's really all that can be said.

He hasn't had a great season, but he hasn't had a bad one either.

Disagree, especially when you consider Mark Derosa has turned into Roy Hobbs.

But the bottom line is that he wasn't brought here this year, and paid what he was paid, to have anywhere near the season he's had this year.

Yeah, DeRosa is killing it with that OPS lower than Bradley. Been a real beast since being traded to STL, almost hitting as well as Theriot. I can't believe the Cardinals traded for him, he's obviously a cancer. 5th team in 6 years.

I knew before clicking that link that JeffH would be a major player....

yeah last year was really nice because the cubs were comfortably ahead for nearly the entire season. we didn't really have to deal with the negatrons until october. unfortunately the most likely result in any given season is "not winning world series" so they'll always crawl out of the woodwork at some point.

Did you seriously say these things consecutively? There's usually a reason why a guy bounces around so much, well Reggie Sanders played for 7 teams in 7 years, the [expletive] prick.

Yes there is usually a reason, why a guy plays for a lot of different teams, I [expletive] explained to you each of the reasons in my previous post.

it's the same argument people use to glorify people like Biggio and Ripken; both were great players, but using "they played their whole career for one team" as some sort of benchmark for greatness is idiotic

Are you happy with division titles Derwood. I've been an Astros fan for 84 years, and I only want titles. Biggio is a prick.

I'd rather lose 100 games a year with nice players than win the WS with a prick like Bradley.

And is the reason that Sanders bounced around because of his behavior? Because that's what I'm talking about regarding Bradley. Which is why the Sanders argument has no meaning in this argument. You could pick out a number of players who have played for multiple teams. Including Mark DeRosa. But they are not known has head cases. Which is the gist of my point.

What would be the reason that Bradley has bounced around in your opinion?

along with the "The Cubs have never won back to back division titles in their history until now" woodwork crawlers.

Yipee!!!! Division titles. And if I'm not mistaken the Cubs are 0-6 the last two years in the postseason.

But that's O.K. Cause at least they made the playoffs.

Enjoy, Truffle.

if only Bradley had hit better (and not been such a prick) in those 6 games.....
