"even more"?

You must not pay attention to the farm system. This year it has taken a big step forward.

i'm aware. i'm just saying that it's still not very good.

So what? It's gone from a bottom of the barrell system to a pretty average system in a years time. This year's picks have looked promising as well. If they can improve next year then we all of a sudden have solid to above average farm system.

Either way, the lone bright spot for this season is the play in the minors.

Please don't suck the life out of that like you do with everything else on this board.

jesus. all i said is that our farm system has gotten better, but it's not "beefed up". that's all i'm saying. it's gone from crappy to maybe average. is that not true?

stop looking for stuff to pick apart.

So you admit it's improved yet still complain to just to be contrary.

Yep, got it.

if you have to pick apart everything i say and make it into something it's not, why don't you just put me on ignore. it's really pretty simple.

now do you understand?

"Beefing up" indicates improvement. If you're a 110 lb. weakling who works out and becomes a 160 lb. average guy, you have beefed up. Adding another 20 pounds would be beefing up "even more". If you're going to take issue with semantics, do it right.

going from crappy to average is the very definition of "beefing up"

if that's what he meant, fine. sounded like he was acting like our farm system is stacked now or something with the "even more" part.

if that's not what he meant, fine. i'll apologize. i don't even care. just drop it before the troops arrive and start making cool and witty comments and put words into my mouth

let's see how many more people can take issue with the fact that i misinterpreted a post

Or better yet we can wait for the troops to put words in your mouth.

Seems like a petty distinction to me.

My initial point still stands, Hendry has an opportunity to "improve" the farm system even further. I hope he takes advantage of it.

If it was the Marlins that claimed him, is there any possibility we could pry Cameron Maybin from them? I don't know if he's on the 40-man or not (I would assume he is) though.

Maybin's value is probably way higher than Harden's, though.

I doubt the Cubs would be able to give Maybin a position and wait until he gets it at the MLB level. Just my opinion.

If he has any options left he could continue in the minors like he is now. If they thought he could produce next year, though, it would allow them to look for a trade of Kosuke or Bradley.

Like Vanilla Ice said, though, they probably wouldn't do it anyway.
