Dang, this will start another three threads about acquiring Adam Dunn as he hits another homerrun

Yeah, why would anyone have wanted Dunn, idiots.

Just saying we re-hash this in a 100 threads and just have to realize that management ain't going to make it happen. We might as well have a "get Pujols" thread

The only good thing about the 2nd half is that it appears the shoulder thing isn't going to linger for Aramis. Now, he could easily blow it out again, but when he's in there, it doesn't appear to be hurting him too bad.

Really? Because I thought that after a hot start to his return Aramis had been somewhat of a non-factor. He's only had 2 HR in August.

Wow with the crappy conditions, the empty bleachers, and the home run power by Soriano I seriously thought they were showing a replay of a homer from April. Guess I'm not paying that much attention.

The last week of August here is going to see one day get over 70 degrees. This is ridiculous

The Nats have outscored the Cubs by 9 runs so far this series

Yeah but come on, we had to throw our $90 mil ace, our 2nd ace with supposedly the best stuff, and our "stud" rookie pitcher in the series. Plus all of our regulars were healthy. With those limitations, its amazing that we could even win 1.

BTW, I was going to share this earlier, but I was looking on Craigslist this morning and found someone trying to dump club level seats (Club Box 21, Row 10...right behind home), for $50 a ticket. I bet I could have talked the guy down to $35...but even that wasn't worth it for me.

Perfect storm for getting cheap tickets today...crappy weather, crappy opponent, crappy Cubs team, day game, rain in the forecast

Edit: Also, the cheapest tickets I saw on CL was $10 for upper deck first base line (row 3) tickets. Judging by all the empty seats, it wasn't worth it for most people.

I don't think our guys are even trying, pathetic.

I hope today's game ends Lou's thought of Theriot being the leadoff hitter. Your pitcher gives up 3 in the top of the first and Theriot swings at the first two pitches. Granted he got on base getting hit, but that was a ridiculous approach. Then his second time up, again leading off an inning with the team now down 5 runs, he swings at a 2-0 pitch on the outside corner. Again, what is he thinking? Make the damn pitcher throw at least one strike in those situations Ryan. His third time up was extra special. Lou wastes an out having the pitcher bunt and Theriot ends the inning on the first pitch he sees.

I know the season is toast, but come on.

On cue...Ludwick singles in 2 runs and the Cardinals take the lead with Carpenter in line for another win.

Theriot has been like that all year. His pitches per plate apperance are among the lowest on the team.

Complaining about first pitch swinging to lead off the game? Its not like Martin had shown to be wild, or it was the 5th and we were about to knock him out.

what was the HR power from Soriano? A deep foul?

Yeah, he crushed a breaking ball that the wind+the ball hooking made it go foul.
