And now the Rockies are losing. Seriously, one good stretch at home against these bad teams and they could have been 3-5 out of the WC at the end of the homestand. I don't see how they can be so bad for so long.

Lou's birthday tomorrow. Good time to go on a 30-game winning streak.

Maybe he will get drunk and forget to show up. We can only hope

Theriot had 5 at bats. He swung at 5 first pitches. He's Jeff Francouer.

He's the Cubs leadoff hitter. Figures.

Did I mention he's an awful fielder who makes a lot of mistakes on the bases?

Three more outs left. I'm not giving up.

You are a stronger man than I. In a related note, this will bethe first time I'm prepared for my fantasy football draft since 2006.

Got your draft slot assigned already?

Both my leagues pre-draw the draft order.

It makes things much better.

I have the 4th pick but it's a keeper league so the remaining players are almost random.

Because it's a mediocre team? Combine that with certain players obviously mailing it in and this is the result.

Were at the point where there is absolutely no reason for Soriano to be active. Were essentially out of it, and if he has any hope of improveing next year, he needs that knee surgery. As for Lou needed the vets to help out down the stretch, its all moot at this point. Just platoon Fox and Fuld. I reallt cant remember the last time Soriano had any kind of meaningful hit.

the walk off granny was the last 1 i remember

He had a 3-run homer in the first inning two days later. I guess it depends on what you consider "meaningful."

And if the Cubs do trade Harden and Heilman (moreso about the former not the latter) then you have given up the season. Which means there should be no reason to keep playing Soriano or for that matter ARam on less then fully healed injuries. At this point, I have no problem with Fox at 3rd and Fuld in CF with Fukudome in RF and Bradley in LF.
