I think this may sound [poopy] but I really want someone to flip their lid in the dugout. Edited by genbar

Not gonna happen. They seem pretty content with being mediocre.

How about a brawl with Soriano, Soto, Fontenot, and Miles and then suspend them the rest of the season

The 2004 team was a bigger disappointment, but at least they played something resembling good baseball for most of the season. This team is just extremely mediocre at best.

I long for the 2004 team at this point. At least I felt really good going into September.

SEASON OVER. Put the whole effin' team on waivers and see if we can get something for one of these stiffs.

Hell I'll give away most of them Alex Rios style

Soriano, Zambrano, Bradley, Soto, Miles, Fontenot, Dempster, Gregg, Heilman

Am I missing anyone?

Again, another thing about this team that angers me.

Hendry should probably fire Lou at this point. It's about time for another pointless firing that will do nothing to make this team better.

Eh. I don't long for the 04 team.

If you're not going to make the playoffs, don't string me along for six months only to blow it in the last week. Just get it out of the way and the sooner you're eliminated, the better.

The Cubs might come back to Wrigley under .500. What a pathetic bunch of losers. There is no other way to put it. The lack of leadership is sad. Dempster proved again he is not capable of winning a game when the team needs it the most. I told myself last night that I wasn't going to watch this game. Instead I watch it and get more frustrated.

Lou, here are a couple of free suggestions. First, always have 2 relievers warming up. The next time a guy walks the first batter he faces, remove him from the game. Second, give a take sign once in awhile. This team was way to aggressive against a guy who struggles with his control.

Hey, it worked in Colorado. Maybe it was just coincidence, but they sure turned their season around after their manager was fired.

Cards' 5th starter was rocked by the Dodgers tonight so the Cubs actually lost no ground...

Unless you consider them under the ground already...

They lost a game in the WC though..

He's not. He let Baker finished out 2006, so you can bet on Hendry will let Lou finish out the year if he wants to.

Yes, you are right, but I suspect they are already out of the WC race...

I know there are 4-5 teams ahead of us in the WC race, but we are closer in that race than the Central. Plus the top 2 contenders, the Rockies and Giants will beat up on each other over the last month, as well as the 2 contenders below them the Marlins and Braves.

That's exactly how I feel. If you're going to blow it, do it earlier in the season instead of making it heartbreaking over the last week. That year still sucks because I felt that team was easily more talented than its 2003 counterpart and they couldn't beat the likes of the Mets and the Reds.

This is just a joke now. Why people are talking about playoff races is beyond me when they can't win one [expletive] game at Petco Park. But hey, at least we scored more than a run this time around.

I think we've learned how this season is going to end by the very fact that Lou just sat on his fat ass after Buckner blatantly missed the call at 1b.

By the way, think anyone (besides Dempster) on the Cubs staff has figured out Blanks can only hit one pitch?

Just out of curoiosity, why the hell did Lou mess with the lineup? We seemes to be at our best when the lineup was

Fuku

Theriot

Lee

Ramirez

Bradley

Soriano

Font/Baker

Hill/Soto

but then he decides to tinker with it, and all of the sudden, we suck again.
