What is the holdup? According to radar it hasn't been raining there for awhile now. They could have maybe gotten five innings in before this large band of t-storms. Looks like its too late now. Not sure why it hasn't been called.

Well we can still gain a full game in the Wild Card today if the Marlins can come back and beat the Rockies....they already beat the Rockies in the first game. If they can win game 2, we'll be 2.5 out. If not, 3.5 out.

rainouts are annoying, especially when the opponent is playing as poorly as the pirates are. fortunately they're probably going to suck just as badly when this is made up.

Not such a bad thing to be rained out today with all the sickness going around. Plus Ohlendorf owned us last time out.

 

As has been mentioned, the wild card is starting to look like a pretty decent possibility. Our schedule is pretty weak outside of the four games at LA, four at SF, and three at STL. All those games left against Houston and Milwaukee don't look so bad anymore.

That's exactly why I wanted to have this game rained out. We get to play the Pirates (more than likely) down the stretch, which could be pivotal. You'll find no complaints at all from me.

Pirates come into town Sept 29-Oct 1. I'm going to guess that the game's going to be made up as part of a DH on October 1st. Cubs are off on the 28th of September, but unfortunately the Pirates have the last game of a wrap-around series against LA then.
