Pirates come into town Sept 29-Oct 1. I'm going to guess that the game's going to be made up as part of a DH on October 1st. Cubs are off on the 28th of September, but unfortunately the Pirates have the last game of a wrap-around series against LA then.
I disagree that it's unfortunate, since it ensures that the Cubs don't lose an off day. I'd expect the day-night DH earlier in the series, though, to provide some flexibility in the event of bad weather then.

Good point.

sorry if this was already posted, but it looks like they're skipping Harden and sticking with their original rotation for SD, with Harden pitching Thursday

Even though Harden has looked better recently, I still like this move to give him some extra rest and hopefully keep him fresh through September.

Good. It would be nice if they could skip Wells at least once along the way, too.

I'm really nervous about this upcoming road trip. I don't care if the Padres take up a lot of it. I never feel safe going out west. If we can have a good one we should go on a pretty good run because we play some teams at home that we really should beat afterwards.

Because the Padres and Dodgers are guaranteed to play all-world baseball against the Cubs after quietly laying down and letting the Cardinals have their way with them.

Remember, they got swept by the crap on a stick that is the Padres in July, wouldn't shock me a bit if the Padres managed to all of sudden quit struggling vs the Cubs.

If you remember though, the Padres were playing some really good baseball at that time. If I'm not mistaken they won 9 games in a row, or something like that, in the stretch that they swept us. The Padres aren't as good now.

The Padres' sweep of the Cubs came in the midst of a 12-3 run for them to close out May. After that stretch, they were at .500. Now, they're 20 games under .500.

They're 5-5 in their last 10 and have lost their last 4.
