I'm rooting for Paul DePodesta to be the next GM. He's the one that is responsible for what is going on in LA right now.

Logan White and Kim Ng say hello.

Logan White is the best GM prospect and if they were to replace Hendry, he would be the only one on my list.

Hendry was once a top notch farm director too. It's questionable how well the two skills translate.

Everything I've seen about Logan White's philosophy is that he has a better approach on what it takes to build a successful ballclub moreso than Hendry.

If Mike Rizzo doesn't get to keep the GM job in Washington, I'd be interested in bringing him in as well.

Ive been all about Bobby Valentine for skipper since I heard he planned on coming back to the states after this season.

I hope he stays in Japan. Japanese baseball needs him.

Agreed, although I think they'll keep him. Riggleman might've earned a job with how he's done.

Rumor tonight has the Nats about to name Jerry DiPoto GM and let Rizzo walk... which blows my mind.

I think they're gonna hang on to him. He's been decent since he took over.

If there is a GM spot opening, I suspect Rizzo would take that job to take a "lesser role" with Washington. Personally, I think Washington should have kept Rizzo, but....

No.

Neither would I. Not everyday you can lay claim to the most nonsensical post in NSBB history.

"The initial notice was a physical appearance black" wins that prize.

According to Gordon Edes of Yahoo.com, "multiple sources insisted" today that the Nationals are about to replace interim GM Mike Rizzo with Diamondbacks vice president Jerry DiPoto.

Rizzo has been busy since replacing Jim Bowden as GM earlier this year. He brought in Nyjer Morgan and fired Manny Acta. Most notably, perhaps, he has been given credit for engineering the signing of pitching phenom Stephen Strasburg.

DiPoto, who has been in charge of the Diamondbacks' pro scouting for four years, denied any knowledge that such a job change was imminent.

Washington would be completely idiotic to replace Rizzo & of course, sound baseball decisions haven't come around too often for Expos/Nationals in the past +10 years.

Since this was being discussed here, I figured I'd toss it out. Mike Rizzo has been named the permanent Nationals GM.

Rizzo, the acting general manager since spring training, was still technically an assistant GM. Now he will be the team's GM and senior vice president of baseball operations, a promotion the Nationals were set to announce at a news conference Thursday.

So evidently they're not.

Who were the multiple sources, Stone and Kaplan?

Edit: This was directed at the article, not you PCP.

While this will never happen, but what would the reactions be if somehow Larussa was brought on as the manager in 2010.

Is he also going to get a sweet deal with walgreens to provide "supplements" for his players like in St. Louis and Oakland?
