The New York Daily News reports that the Mets have acquired OF Jason Dubois from the Chicago Cubs.

Well, at least Omar Minaya is beginning to understand the concept of depth, especially with his team as banged up as it is. Dubois hasn't seen major league action since 2005. He has a career .223/.286/.443 line in 210 at-bats. He was at .302/.390/.502 for Triple-A Iowa and is a certainty to see some time, especially if Gary Sheffield needs to go back on the disabled list.

It doesn't say what the Cubs got back in return; probably a PTBNL or cash. This may have been a move to make room on the Iowa roster for Hoffpauir.

The creature makes his return. This time in the Big Apple!

The Mets have become the haven for mediocre Cubs OF prospects much like the Orioles are a haven for all failed top Cubs prospects.

Prolly a box champagne and a hearty handshake.

DIdn't Jason Tyner get traded for nothing? Maybe the same thing happened to Jason Dubois. It was simply a move to try to get him some PT in the big leagues.

That actually would be a good return for Dubois.

According to Rick Brown at the Des Moines Register, the Mets acquired outfielder Jason Dubois from the Cubs last night for cash considerations. Dubois, 30, hasn't played in the majors since 2005, but has put up a solid .302/.390/.502 line for AAA Iowa this year. He could find time from the big-league bench with the Mets' injury issues.
