Because I know you're all wondering:

Aaron Miles is hitting .205 in the first nine games of his rehab stint at Iowa. "I think Jim (Hendry) is waiting for Aaron to start swinging the bat a little better," Piniella said.

From Monday's Trib: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-27-cubs-bits-chicago-jul27,0,4824668.story

Hendry's going to be waiting a loooooooooooong time.

i've got a friend who works the hotdog stand at Principal Park that told me Miles hasn't been working the count. this might be something to keep an eye on.

Actually I am fine if he keeps doing that, because if he continues to hit .200 there is no way he will be brought back up. So, keep up the good work Aaron.

You know you're bad when hot dog vendors are criticizing you.

What are the rules on releasing him? He's technically on the DL, so we can't just release him, right?

Do we need to activate him (requiring a corresponding move), then we can waive him?

This was my thinking as well. He's helping the team by not hitting AAA pitching.

Yep, god forbid a Miles hot streak. Him being continually owned by PCL pitching is almost as interesting to me as watching how Castro/Vitters are doing in Daytona.

when you say "cut your losses". Please define that for us. Do you mean...cut Jim Hendry? How much $ can one guy waste over a 5-yr period? We could field an MLB baseball team w/ the $ he has literally thrown away over that timeframe.

I have a feeling that his team would have similarities to a Steve Phillips run team.

Something tells me after tonight's game that wrigley won't be back to respond for at least a week.

I'm trying to find Soriano's name somewhere in this post and I can't do it. I'm so confused right now.

It's in code...has to be embedded in there somewhere. I've got a buddy @ MIT working on cracking it..

So I take it there won't be any "Aaron Miles Appreciation Threads" anytime soon?
I'd appreciate reading that Miles is released. :D
