The second to last play of the Rams-Titans Superbowl was about as exciting as football has ever been for me. The way McNair pulled that play out of his arse was absolutely unbelievable.

That entire ending was superb. From Denard Walker tripping to allow Bruce to catch the eventual game winning TD to McNair throwing off Mo Lewis and Kevin Carter to complete a pass to Mason on the second to last play and then Dyson coming up a yard short to end it. I wish the result had been different, but that was a great ending.

We wouldn't have gotten nearly that close on the final drive without McNair.

Agreed. Arguably one of the best Super Bowls ever, if not the best. I wish we won, but man it was still exciting. Air McNair was our catalyst.

this is really sad for folks in my home state. Coming from a historically black college like Alcorn and doing the things he did, he was a great inspiration to A LOT of people in the state.

Thinking of him reminds me of these ads that were going around last year:

The double celebrity death trifecta is now complete.

David Carridine, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett

Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, Steve McNair.

It was already completed. Karl Malden completed the second. Maybe this is the start of a third.

His wife is fine. The woman that was found with him is someone else.

Heard this last night on the radio while waiting for fireworks to start...thought maybe I mis-heard.

Can't help but think that Patrick Swazye is getting close to this list.

And, at least according to some reports, Walter Cronkite.

I wonder if his wife knew anything about the affair. That's got to be pretty devastating to get a phone call one day: "Your husband has been murdered. Oh, he was cheating on you too. Have a nice day."

The stories I've seen make it seem like a fairly open affair.

I can't trust a publication that insists the girl was gorgeous.

Having worked years ago at a downtown Chicago hotel bar where a number of teams stayed, she doesn't even look like she'd get a first glance at being "road beef". But then again I wouldn't call her a slump buster.

You can't even imagine how gorgeous some of the jersey chasers are that I saw come through the place.

Yeah, I know. This woman was obviously fatal attraction to the nth degree. I wonder if McNair even saw it coming. She's DUIing all over town, has a gun -- sheesh. If you're going to dump your wife, at least find a sane woman and then break it off officially. Don't tool around with a psycho.

Maybe he was trying to break it off? "

Yeah most likely. Why else would he have ended up with two shots in the head and two in the chest? Sounds like this was one majorly p'd off(and emotional) chick.

I wonder how long it will be before the made for tv movie about this comes out.

I wonder who will get the story first, CSI, CSI: Miami, Law & Order.

That's what I'm thinking (especially now that it's been reported that she had a gun).
