Why arent you hopeful? We miss Gallardo, we are at home, and we have our suppposed top 4 pitchers going. If there was ever a time for hope, this series is it.

This reminds me alot of our series vs Milwaukee last year. The Brewers had nearly passed us in the division, we had been struggling and the Brewers were hot. I felt really nervous going into the series, thinking that we were gonna lose our lead. Then, all the sudden, we came to life and swept them in 4 games. That was possibly the biggest series of 2008... we never looked back after that.

Plus, Lou flipped out and threw his hat yesterday... so that means this is the part where we go on a tear for the rest of the season and win the WS. I certainly hope so anyway. This is a huge series, regardless.

CUBS pitchers allowed a total of 4 BBs in the 3 game series in Pittsburgh. They haven't shown that much control of the strike zone over three games since mid April......

This series is huge. Taking 3-4 would be ideal, but even if we split it, with Ramirez due back monday and just 3.5 games back, we'll be the favorites once again, barring some kind of miracle trade by the Cards or Brewers.

Last year, the CUBS were 60-25 (.706) when they got a quality start..... so far this year, CUBS are 28-20 (.583) when they get a quality start.

I guess that's what a R/G and 80 extra points of team OPS are worth these days, no?

I went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch the first game of the big 4 game Milwaukee series last year that ended in a Cubs sweep and got the team going, so I will be returning there for tonight's game.

CUBS are 15-23 when Hornkohl is on the road.... 22-15 when he's at home

CUBS are 5-0 when Hornkohl is in the stands.... 32-38 when he's not

Go CUBS !!
