When have I suggested otherwise?

Literally 10 minutes ago when bradley was going on contact to be "aggressive"

I was referring to the fact that if Bradley was running on contact, why wasn't Kosuke?

See? This is what I'm referring to in the two other threads I posted in. We're borderline moronic as far as the fundamentals go, and once again, Brenly notices it and gripes about it. We have to be the worst baserunning team in baseball. And you know what, it's been like this for years, and nothings ever done about it.

Pathetic!!

Take this stat for what you will:

Outs recorded on the basepaths 2009 (doesn't count caught stealing or pickoffs):

Brewers: 20

Cards: 22

Cubs: 22

Astros: 24

Reds: 33

Pirates: 33

By that stat, the Cubs aren't the worst baserunning team in their division this year, much less the worst in the majors.

I think we both know those numbers don't tell the entire story, but it's still interesting. I thought we'd be worse than that, honestly.

The Reds are the only team that get on base less than the Cubs on that list. That amuses me.

I know it doesn't tell the whole story - that's why I said take it for what you will.

But, I do think we tend to magnify the blunders our team makes and not consider that over 162 games all teams make mistakes.

Yup, fair enough, there's some truth in that statement for sure. The baserunning errors are just a consistent annoyance to me, I guess. They've been going on for so long it seems like.

If the Cubs were terrible baserunners up until 2006, I think the Reds may be showing us why.

All outs are an annoyance. And they're happening too often this year in all aspects. :)

Great throw Fuld!

well that's cool. God I hate the guy who takes over for pat in the 5th inning, though.

Don't we all...

He's horrible. He was bumbling and stumbling all over himself on that play.

Pats self on back with my Fuld comments from yesterday.

Because Soriano wouldn't have made that throw, amirite?!

I don't think they would have run on Soriano there.

actually, they probably wouldn't have ran on soriano so then wells would have given up another hit so they would have scored. So good job, Fuld :)
