See? This is what I'm referring to in the two other threads I posted in. We're borderline moronic as far as the fundamentals go, and once again, Brenly notices it and gripes about it. We have to be the worst baserunning team in baseball.

This seems to be a common trend that we've had problems with for many years. Remember how much fun it was to watch Moises Alou on the basepaths?

And there's another example of the unquantifiable benefits of good fundamentals/aggressiveness. Pitcher is annoyed by Fuld at 1B, and commits an error on the pickoff.

Alou's arm was NOT that good. I thought I remember him being in the territory of Juan Pierre noodle-itude.

He habitually hit the backstop and the net behind home plate on throws home.

so wait, now it's good to be aggressive? That's all Lou was doing with bradley? Now what would have happened if fuld ran and was thrown out?

No, web bots provide more substance to their respective forum.

Huh, my brain must be trying to block those memories out.

Which means it's impossible to prove either way the effect Fuld had on the pitcher.

Of course it's good to run the bases aggressively. When have I suggested otherwise? Of course I don't mean stupid-aggressive like Soto at 3B last night, but yea.

Literally 10 minutes ago when bradley was going on contact to be "aggressive"

Take this stat for what you will:

Outs recorded on the basepaths 2009 (doesn't count caught stealing or pickoffs):

Brewers: 20

Cards: 22

Cubs: 22

Astros: 24

Reds: 33

Pirates: 33

By that stat, the Cubs aren't the worst baserunning team in their division this year, much less the worst in the majors.
