Why not just go all offense for a game. I'd do this tomorrow, and just roll the dice.

1. 2B- Soriano

2. CF- Fukudome

3. 1B- Lee

4. 3B- Fox

5. LF- Hoff

6. RF- Bradley

7. SS- Theriot

8. C- Soto

If you're going for offense, Soriano should not be in the lineup right now.

...costing you runs at 2nd

I could see him trying to turn a double play. Theriot would field the ball and toss it to Alf, while he walks to second. Pierzynski collides with Soriano and he's out for the year.

Nor would Bradley

Who do you replace them with...Blanco? Miles? Fontenot? Hill? Johnson?...Quite a bench we got there.

Here's what I would do for the next few games to shake things up.

1) Sit Soriano for the rest of the week (4 games) and let him clear his head and give whatever injury he might have a rest

2) Play Jake Fox in LF for the next 4 games

3) Play Andres Blanco at SS

4) Play Theriot at 2B (Fontenot staying at 3B)

5) Move Fukudome to leadoff and tell him to concentrate on getting on base whatever way possible

New Lineup:

Fukudome (L)

Theriot ®

Bradley (S)

Fox ®

Lee ®

Fontenot (L)

Soto ®

Blanco (S)

Not ideal, but about as good as it gets. Blanco isn't exactly a great offensive option, but it gets Miles out of the lineup.

I agree with all of this, except I'd have Lee ahead of Fox.

Why shouldnt Bradley? He had 2 hits yesterday, and has hit safely in 6 straight games? Bradley is starting to hit

He was batting right-handed yesterday. He sucks batting left handed.

this is exactly what i would do, except maybe the batting order. Hoff can also get some time in LF.

out of curiosity, why are you willing to play Fox at 3B while Soriano is out, but not when he comes back?

If it was me:

CF - Fukudome

2B - Theriot

RF - Bradley

1B - Lee

LF - Soriano

3B - Fontenot

C - Soto

SS - Blanco

I would be willing to switch Bradley and Lee. But honestly, this team isn't going to hit no matter who plays where and hits where in the line up till ARam returns... At which point you go with:

CF - Fukudome

SS - Theriot

RF - Bradley

1B - Lee

3B - Aram

LF - Soriano

2B - Fontenot

C - Soto

I figure that right now Fox's glove can't hurt us more than Soriano's bat but assuming Fonzie is competent when he is put back in the lineup, Fox's glove would hurt us more.

It's a stretch but...

I believe this is a great idea, with Fox in LF do we really lose that much defensively? At least there's a good chance Fox will do things like hustle after gb's.

right. i guess, theoretically speaking, you're saying you'd take the hit defensively right now just for the extra offense if you had to but hopefully that wouldn't be necessary with a "hot" Soriano in the mix.

i really don't think Fox at 3B is a possibility anyway based on Lou's comments and use of Fox so far, but it's interesting.
