Yeah definitely too good to be true for Randy Wells. I know theres a long way to go, but I'm about ready to throw in the towel on this season. Best of luck to Dusty Baker's Reds on the division. Or the Pirates, or Astros.

I just don't want the Brewers to win it. I am sick of their bush league behavior. I would pull for the Cardinals before them.

You must not live in Missouri, haha.

I don't, but have a ton of family who are Cards fans. Even with that, I still would rather the Cards win the division.

Mauer is hitting .418 on the season? Holy [expletive]. He's doubling up on like half our team.

Why couldn't the Twins have taken Mark Prior?

Because that would have been far less soul-crushing. Don't you know that?

Although if the Twins had taken Prior and the Cubs Mauer, Prior would have 3 Cy Youngs by now, and Mauer would be languishing in the minors somewhere.

Probably. I imagine we would have taken tex then anyways.

Wojo wrote in his book Cubs Nation that we would have happily taken Mauer if the Twins had taken Prior, but Prior was #1 on the board.

I could never pull for the Cardinals over anybody unless it helped the Cubs in the standings (not even a Yankees or White Sox vs. Cardinals WS), but that's just me.

I will take a team of asses that are legitimate players over having to watch the parade of magically good crappy baseball players in St. Louis play postseason baseball.

Why? I mean I don't like them when they are getting lucky performances to hurt our chances, but our team isn't going anywhere this season. If we suck I could care less if they take advantage of that. The Brewers are a joke, they have been ok the last couple of years, not better than us but ok. Yet they trot around like they are the best thing since sliced bread. It isn't just us that feel that way either. Act like you've been there before.

There is no more legitimate player than Albert Pujols. The reason they are competitive is a testament to how good Albert is.

Chris Carpenter when healthy is one of the best in the game.

If Ryan Ludwick, Chris Duncan, Kyle Lohse, Todd Wellemeyer et al. performed like they should, it wouldn't matter how good Pujols was. There's no doubt he helps, probably more than any one single player helps anyone, but he can't be responsible for everything.

Ok. That still takes nothing away from how good Pujols is and how if you took him off that team they would be the Kansas City Royals.

Um they are this year. Sans Lohse.

I wish there was some magical "No team in the NL Central goes to the playoffs" option

I see that our team has taken a turn from "Depressingly and Heartbreakingly bad" to "Just plain bad, getting blown out bad"

Gonna be honest, if the Twins are competitive in their divison this year I might turn into a Twins fan in the AL

Sure they love bbbbbbbunting, and they've made plenty of dumb trades, but their front office is the antithesis of ours, and hell they got a bunch of players you can be proud of rooting for.

I didn't think the offense could somehow get even worse than the last 2 games. At this rate, we'll be no-hit within a week.

I don't think 9 random NSBB'ers could hit much worse than these jokers have lately.
