Well he gets more at bats than anyone else and he doesn't walk so when he isn't hitting he's going a guaranteed 0-5 for days straight

 

And we're lucky enough that we'll get to see him playing LF and leading off for years to come.

 

Soriano is on pace for a near career record pace 64 walks.

 

And I doubt he'll be leading off for years to come. He's well on his way to losing that "right" already. I'd predict he spends the back half of that contract batting 5th or 6th.

I don't want him to do something to just do something. One person isn't going to lift the entire team. Multiple players already here need to show they can turn it around before Hendry should go spending prospects because otherwise the team isn't going anywhere and those players have likely been wasted.

I agree that Hendry shouldn't make a move for the sake of just making one, but we need to acquire a bat. And by acquiring a bat, I don't mean just sitting around and waiting for Aramis to come back. His bat will definitely help, but we need another guy as well. Our starting pitching can't continue to go to waste because of a horrid offense.
