So why are we mad at Gregg when the inning should have been over?

He still served up a meatball to a all power no discipline hitter, regardless of whether the inning should have been over. Seriously, a player like Francoeur should never be able to beat you with the game on the line.

Throwing a meatball down the middle to someone who swings at anything close to the plate comes immediately to mind.

If you're going to rip on Soto, Marmol's awesome 8th also deserves mention, as does Lee's dropped ball that got that mess going.

To bad the inning wasn't over, but that doesn't excuse a crap pitch that blows the game.

He seems to groove fastballs at least three times per appearance.

Probably because he's behind in the count to almost every hitter he faces.

This is gonna be a team loss. We can't field. We can't hit. We can't pitch. We just aren't very good.

no, we can pretty much chalk it up solely to the pen.

again.

Yeah they screwed the pooch, but come on Lee doesn't catch the Theiot lollipop. Soto continues to blow.

What kind of closer quality pitchers are out there for the Cubs to look at in July?

Please don't say Kerry Wood.

Closer quality or better quality than Kevin Gregg?
