13 "official" hr.

Should be 14.

Daytona's destroying Sarasota 10-1 as we speak. Andrew Cashner had a solid start, going 4 scoreless, striking out 1, and only allowing 3 baserunners (2 H, 1 BB). Jovan Rosa also has two doubles to his name.

Was at the Chiefs game today. Vitters HR was a hard line drive that barely made it over the left field wall which was pretty high, probably over 20 feet. His first hit was a little tap between 3B and pitcher that the pitcher threw past first.

I took some pictures that I can put up if anybody is interested. I also talked to Michael Brenly too, he was really nice I just wanted him to sign my program, and I asked if his dad was there today and he had a little convo with me about how his dad was planning on coming, but ended up not because the weather didn't look too promising (It turned into a beautiful day for baseball).

I'd love to see the pictures

Good outing for Cashner. Nothing flashy, but got the job done easily.

4 IP

2 hits

1 BB

1K

0 ER

Season ERA is now 1.99.

That's only 15 batters, and with only one K and one walk, not sure there needed to be lots of long counts. Did he really exhaust his pitch count in 15 batters? Or is the blister problem or some other problem back?

omg does nobody want to talk about the TWO grand slams that Chirinos hit?? one of which went over the batting cages in left.

i have been such a fan of him, and saying that i think he shouldnt be in daytona.. when reed got moved up i was disapointed..

cashner looked good, i was sitting in the stands around the front row and i was talking to leverton and searle, both very nice guys leverton from texas i beleive it was, searle didnt have as much an accent as i thought!! hahaha

cashner was around 93-96 i was surprised when they took him out of the game so early! he had a low pitch count..

i was not at all impressed with cales who has seemed to change his arm angle since i last saw him in daytona, his ball was flat and couldnt locate.

campana continues to make great catches in the outfield he has so much speed its rediclous, johnston also took a fantastic diving catch

samson also a surpriser, making all the tough plays look easy very solid.

searle said he was starting tomorow and hoping for a better effort than last time, he said he lost his arm slot and things were flattening out so hopefully tomorow we will see the groundball machine come back out..

im am interested to see sasser and albaqueque and if they move quickly, last night al was at 95 looking smooth

Thanks for the report!

Chirinos is about to be 25 years old and it seems like he's been with the organization forever. I hope he'll be a success, but he's old for his league and has had quite some time with the Cubs. I can't say I'm overly excited for him.

Vitters HR yesterday was his 12th of the month of May, which is a new Chiefs record for most home runs in any calendar month.
