So we wont play Fox at 3rd because of his defense but we will play Font against a lefty, when hes not very good at defense either. Yup sounds like a Lou decision to me

Yea it makes no sense to sit Fuku against EVERY left hand pitcher, but yet give Font starts against them, when hes shown in the minors and majors to be terrible against lefties. Dont question Lou though he will get angry at you and raise his voice.

They've had an easy schedule in the early going, playing mostly against NL West teams. Wait and see where they are once they get into the meat of their schedule.

if this particular Cubs team doesn't make the playoffs I'm giving up followign them for at least a few years

 

we'd have to start rebuilding and the bloated contracts of some of our less worthwhile players will hold us back for a while, it'll be pretty brutal. This is a pretty make or break year.

No problem. The 420 feeds are startin to act a little funny. The best feed is ESPN TW1 if you don't mind listening to Chinese broadcasters.

A subplot that very few seem to talk about is the one you just mentioned. Lee is past his prime, Soriano is about at the end of his, Aramis is soon going to be approaching the end of his. This team will still have plenty of pieces, but there's a lot of retooling ahead if we're going to compete in the coming years.

Feels like 2006. Many players who I just plain hate to watch at the plate. I don't recall feeling that way last year about anybody, with the possible of kfuk late in the season.

 

It just feels like the Cubs are on the downslide. :(

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that the Dodgers won't be on a 111 win pace in August.
