Remember what Cubs fans did last year in the All Star voting?seems like Brewers fans have taken the idea this year, and since most of them dont have jobs, they can vote all day and all night. I cant disagree with Braun and Fielder, and even Weeks had he not gotten injured, but Hardy(over Hanley???), Hall(over Zimmerman???), and especially Kendall have no business on the All Star Team.

lol, who cares the all-star game is a joke and a half

We should care, because this joke and a half determines home field advantage for the World Series.

So why should we care?

We have a winner.

Which we won't get to this year, so it can continue to be a joke and a half.

Interesting little thread. Giving up on your team this early is ludicrous. You got a great staff and when your star returns the Cubbies will put plenty of pressure on the Central.

As to the AS game, it seems only the AL cares about the home field advantage...remember that LaRussa did'nt even put Pujols (the only Card on the squad) in the game! And there was a good chance that the Cards would win the Div. at the time.

If I was the NL Pres. I would have called LaRussa in and.....Oh, nevermind. Too early to get worked up.

How many of the Cubs shouldn't have been in it last year? I know Fukudome getting in was already looking like a travesty by July, but I was pretty sure everyone else (besides Marmol, who was an injury replacement) deserved inclusion.

Kosuke's probably the only one that was a horrible pick, but he was probably helped by the overseas vote just as much as the huge Cubs fanbase. The rest of the guys were either defensible picks or reserves voted on by players: Soto (starter), Soriano (starter), Dempster, Marmol, Wood, Zambrano, and Ramirez all made the game. Considering the Cubs were arguably the best team in baseball at that point, there wasn't much argument for those guys not making it.

From the Brewers' perspective, Corey Hart started to die a week or two before the All-Star break, and that late throw that lost the game was pretty much the official beginning of the end. He's fallen off the face of the earth faster than anyone this side of Jeff Francoeur, to the point where the Brewers would probably be smart to sit him against RHP in favor of Jody freaking Gerut.

As far as this year's voting goes, it's the first round, so I wouldn't get too worked up about it. The Brewers have been campaigning for votes since the day voting opened, and it's possible guys like Fielder and Hardy are being recognized by people outside of Wisconsin as former All-Stars so they're starting to get some recognition votes. The only Brewer who'll have staying power in any of the voting races is Braun...Fielder will eventually fall back behind Pujols and Howard, and Hardy will fall back behind Jose Reyes and Hanley Ramirez.

pathetic fans or not, Pujols deserves to be the top vote-getter.

Screw that AARP-eligible, steroid user.

I agree, if we get there but our Cubs are so mediocre this year it is hard to get excited about voting for any of them
