This has the makings of one of those games where the Cubs tie it at the last second and then lose in extras.

Last time the Cubs were shutout two games in a row was May 4 and 5 of 2006 (courtesy of ESPN) by Arizona and San Diego.

 

The pitchers?

 

No, not Randy Johnson and Jake Peavy (as Sut speculated).

 

Instead, the Cubs were shut out by Juan Cruz and a couple relievers and Chan Ho Park and a couple relievers.

 

Oh the wonderful 2006 season.

does sutcliffe remember the 2006 cubs? you didn't need randy johnson and jake peavy to shut them out; miguel batista and david wells probably could have gotten the shutouts.
