Was anyone else kinda hoping Gregg would give up 5 runs there just so Lou would take him out of the closers role?

Yeah, everything they swung at was right down the middle.

 

no but most of his pitches have been strikes, especially 1st/2nd pitches, and once you're down 0-2 you're in a big hole. the guy has walked 7 batters in 53 innings of work this year; you're not going to beat him by waiting for 3-1 counts and drawing walks. there were hittable pitches but nobody hit them.

Last time the CUBS were held to 3 hits in a game.... Mon 27 Apr 09 in a 7-2 loss at Arizona

Last time the CUBS were held to zero runs in a game.... Wed 29 Apr 09 in a 10-0 loss at Arizona

Last time the CUBS saw 92 pitches in a 9 inning game.... Sun 14 May 06 in a 9-0 loss to San Diego at Wrigley

Last time the CUBS played a 9 inning game in 2:05.... Mon 11 June 07 in a 2-1 win over Houston at Wrigley

 

 

Guess you could say this was kind of a "throw back" game, eh?
